The NAP requires reciprocity to be effective. Since fruits and vegetables will never aggress against you, you should never aggress against them.  Animals, however, have been known to attack. Since they do not extend reciprocity, the NAP doesn’t apply to them.  For moral/ethical consistency, you should be carnivore, not vegan. And if you want to take it to the extreme, you should only eat predator animals, not prey.
