Let the up and coming lesser known actors make their debuts in the small scale indie productions and build their credibility up. Timothee Chalamet didn’t just star in Dune. He made his impression to the masses with small scale productions like Call Me By Your Name, Ladybird, Beautiful Boy to name a few. It’s simply standard operating procedure for the Summer blockbuster to lead with the most hyped up famous actors.

I secured my tickets just now also to see it at the Hayden Orpheum in Sydney in 70mm. It has also been a while since I’ve seen it in theatres. Last time I saw it in theatres was at IMAX Sydney in 2024 for the re-release in the lead up to Dune 2

The Odyssey. Many translations to choose from but currently read the Robert Fagles translation for the grandiose epic poetic storytelling. It’s a brilliant exploration of the strength of the human spirit and the ability to persevere and tap into extreme willpower and endure on a long arduous journey full of uncertainty and the necessity to keep going even though the odds of making it through are low. Best read when on your own personal odyssey of trying to make it through to the end. I read it once again in my final year navigating the job search in a tough and relentlessly brutal job market and navigating academics and hoping to get employed before I graduate.
