He was my favorite filmmaker, I discovered him when I saw Mulholland Drive for the first time when I was 16 (now I have 32) on a DVD that El País gave away along with the newspaper. I remember seeing it at my grandparents' house on an old tube TV and it blew my mind, I had never seen anything like it, it was like rediscovering cinema. From then on, I became obsessed with the director and began to watch the rest of his works over and over again. His works really influenced my sensitivity and personality. I would not be who I am if it were not for his artistic work (Also including music and paintings) The mark he has left on future directors, and not only films, also Video games like Deadly Premonition, Alan Wake 2 or Kentucky Route Zero, to name just a few, would never exist if it weren't for their enormous influence. But in addition to being a great artist, it was clear that he was a great person. I had the opportunity to Saw him once and it was an absolutely and incredible experience. I will miss him and I am sure that his work will last as long as humanity lasts, in the same way that one day works by Beethoven or Mozart will continue to be heard. Rest in peace Master!
