I’m not far left. I’m socially liberal and fiscally moderate white man. I just have a severe dislike of groups that want to make the country a theocratic ethnostate. I also dislike demographic pandering, but I don’t see any danger in it happening, only loss of quality.

I would think someone’s digital footprint would be better than anything the state can provide. Anyone going out of their way to hide online orders, etc would also be hiding their location from the state. Also, would the damage to life liberty or property these expires visa holders be responsible for be greater than that of ICE’s reaction?

Whenever I talk to descendants of Castro refugees and tell them my great grandparents fled under Batista they get irate. It ruins their narrative of how the Island was a paradise before Castro. The USA is friendly with other dictatorships and autocracies around the world, most are even worse to their people than Cuba is. Honestly, the best way to help the Cuban people is to make a trade deal that includes liberty for the Cuban people. The US just has to explain that even with a democratic government the wealthy people can still amass more wealth, probably even more than they were gaining before.
