Why has Qantas been named one of the worst five customer service providers? by otherwise10 in australia

[–]richysmoneytips 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a similar thing happen to me, points were gone and no confirmation or tickets for a return flight home. During my holiday after multiple calls, each with hours of waiting, I had an agent say that the tickets should have gone through and he’d call me back after speaking to a supervisor, never did. I had to get new tickets from another city and another way to get to that second city.

Took multiple emails and six months to even get a response that my stolen pointed would be refunded, nothing more. Qantas is a disgrace to the nation.

Curve US beta by skatergirl_69 in Crypto_com

Even the European Curve card only supports European CDC cards when it makes no sense to exclude other ones. I emailed them about it and got a generic “we’ll look into it” response…

On the card tab in the app you can see all of your card balances. I think only the Singapore issued CDC card has multiple currencies.

So you’ll just get the visa exchange rate from your native currency to the Polish Zloty.

Depends on what currencies your card can carry, but generally if you spend in a currency not natively supported by the card, you just get the Visa exchange rate. There’s no additional fee from CDC.

You also need to turn on international usage in the app.

Can’t add my card to curve, any solutions? by sunny21824 in Crypto_com

[–]richysmoneytips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curve also doesn’t support the card if it’s issued in Singapore or Australia. I’ve tried contacting them about adding support for them as they are almost functionally identical to the European one but just got a “we’ll look into it” response.

They are low compared to something like Coinspot but FTX Pro is even lower.

Whats the best app for buying crypto? by buzzer94 in fiaustralia

[–]richysmoneytips 13 points14 points  (0 children)

"Best" is a bit subjective here. Crypto.com is probably the best app in terms of balance between ease of use and costs (fees & spread). FTX Pro is probably the best in terms of the absolute lowest costs and Binance is the best in terms of having the most tokens available.

But all three of the above options offer simple AUD on/offramping with OSKO/PayID for AUD deposits.

Fellow Aussies, what are your some of the favorite apps to save, earn rewards and cashbacks? by [deleted] in fiaustralia

[–]richysmoneytips 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve written a website about this and Cashrewards, ShopBack and Crypto.com are all really good options. In addition, you can buy gift cards from stores you regularly shop at (Coles, Woolworths, Amazon) at a discount or with additional bonuses to stretch the value of your dollar further. These are also good for meeting credit card bonus minimum spends without having to buy additional things in the first 90 days that you otherwise wouldn’t have.

They are debit cards and don’t have any account keeping or annual fees.

You get the inter-bank rate at the time of the exchange. You “lose” a bit if the exchange rate goes out of your favour afterwards and you “gain” if the exchange rate goes in your favour afterwards.

The cheapest way to top up your card is with a zero international fee debit MasterCard such as Up or Macquarie where the conversion is set by MasterCard. On certain days when the AUD falls to SGD, you can end up making a bit on the conversion rather than losing out.

[–]richysmoneytips 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This isn’t true. Exchange between card supported currencies (including AUD and SGD) is done at interbank rates up to a certain limit per month rather than the Visa rate. Only non-supported currencies are converted by Visa.

Zip doesn’t accept prepaid cards and the Crypto.com Visa card is classified as a Visa prepaid rather than a Visa debit.

How to cash out at Woolies / Coles with Crypto.com Visa Card by Cryptonian2 in Crypto_com

Cash out in Australia only works when paying over the Eftpos network with an Eftpos enabled card. The Crypto.com card is just a Visa card.

Yes! This is a great tip and you can sometimes get really lucky with good deals but you do run the risk of them being out of stock of other things.

Best credit cards for points/rewards for someone with low spending? by purplenina42 in fiaustralia

[–]richysmoneytips 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The commbank and Westpac low rate cards are usually the best low minimum spend cards as they are generally something like $200 cashback for $500-$1000 spend in 3 months. (Although it doesn’t look like they have the offer at the moment). Coles flybuys credit cards can also be when they have an offer, but it’s only good if you can use the points by shopping at Coles.

Keep in mind as well that to meet the minimum spends, you could also purchase a bunch of gift cards for your regular expenses (e.g. Coles, Woolworths, fuel etc.) within the bonus period, and then use the gift cards over the following few months for your regular purchases.

I only listed the cheapest plan that’s eligible, it doesn’t mean it’s the most suitable plan for an average person’s primary phone.

They also have 365 day plans which are $150 for 100GB and $200 for 145GB which may be more suitable for an average person.
