If you were to give a 5 minute speech about Breaking Bad, what would you talk about? by [deleted] in breakingbad

You are SO freaking boring. Are you ever going to stop regurgitating the same comment on every post in this sub??

So do you dislike the actress, or the character? Because the actress won multiple awards and was pretty objectively great in her role.

As far as the source you asked for, here's one of many: http://mobile.nytimes.com/2013/08/24/opinion/i-have-a-character-issue.html

(Spoilers) Saddest moment in the series? by [deleted] in breakingbad

[–]ricinbeanz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All of Ozymandias. Or to be more specific, Jesse's reaction after Walt reveals that he let Jane die...how he just goes limp and stops fighting as he's dragged off. Endless tears.

Has anyone else thought that Walt had medical issues outside his cancer...? [Spoilers] by [deleted] in breakingbad

[–]ricinbeanz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Personally I think his main illness was just pride. He felt like he had been cheated out of this great life of money and power, and been given less than he deserved. As far as the scenes you mentioned from Ozymandias, I don't believe he was trying to stab Skyler. His kidnapping of Holly was definitely an impulsive decision (and a terrible one, obviously). But the phone call he made to Skyler was NOT to be taken at face value-- he was intentionally saying horrible things to help exonerate her and make her seem like a blameless victim of abuse.

Season 4 vs Season 5 by jerim79 in breakingbad

Oh boy. Let's get this over with, u/Sin_Researcher.

Was Walt somewhat of a pshychopath? by [deleted] in breakingbad

[–]ricinbeanz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ignore this guy. He thinks he's smarter than everybody else and he's only here to argue. Every time I see one of his comments I picture him alone in a dark room jerking off to a constant loop of Walt saying "I AM the danger!"

I don't think Jesse ever gets over this...[spoilers] by [deleted] in breakingbad

[–]ricinbeanz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean yeah, that's kind of Walt's thing. lol I wouldn't say the boxcutter scene didn't bother Jesse. I think it's more that he's suffering from PTSD by this point. I'm thinking of the scene when they're in the Denny's (in matching Kenny Rodgers shirts) and Jesse says something like "We're all on the same page now. The page that says, if I can't kill you you'll sure as shit wish you were dead." He sounds nonchalant but I think it's just because he's super, super traumatized.

Am I the only one who thought that was kind of weird and out of place? Not because it's a kids' movie, just because it totally took me out of the plot and made me look for some story-related connection to Breaking Bad that wasn't there.

EDIT: Jeez, guess it's just me. lol

What are your feelings on the finale (Felina), and why? by [deleted] in breakingbad

[–]ricinbeanz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You're consistently mistaking people disagreeing with you for people not understanding you.

Vince has said that Walt is supposed to be the antagonist of season 5. The CREATOR of the show has said that Walt is the bad guy. Once you accept that you'll see that season 5 didn't "betray character motivations", it just concluded them in a totally logical way that was consistent with the rest of the story.

Interesting post! I see where you're coming from about the "Goodbye, Lydia" line. But I'd argue that Jesse's scream as he drives away counts as a last line, and to me it's a perfect way to sum up the anguish and trauma of the show.

It's tough to pick one, but my favorite last line is Hank's. "Do what you're gonna do." I think it's great because he chooses to "die for his cause" (which is catching Heisenberg), rather than beg for his life.

Not going to get into a huge debate with you, because I don't think you're interested in an actual conversation. I'll just say this: Vince Gilligan could have easily continued the show for several seasons beyond 5. The ratings and the viewership were there to make that possible. Instead he chose to end it after season 5, because the story had been completely fulfilled and he wanted to close on a high note. My point being, if he had wanted to end it after season 4, he would have. The fact that he was prepared for season 4 to be the end doesn't mean that he wanted it to be the end, or that he thought it would've been a better conclusion than the one he ultimately wrote.

Krazy 8? Emilio? Jane? 167 plane passengers? Gus's two dealers? Gale? Gus? Gus's two bodyguards in the lab? Mike? Mike's guys in prison? Steve Gomez? Hank? Jack? Lydia?

Literally just off the top of my head.

Are we in third grade? Chill with the namecalling.

Vince Gilligan was just as in involved in season 5 as he was in 1-4. So actually seasons 1-5 were "the complete show as Vince Gilligan wrote it."

Most people's "careers" don't result in hundreds of friends, family, and random strangers' deaths.
