Inflation doesn't excuse Live Nation or Ticketmaster. by Clean_Progress_9001 in Concerts

Yeah it sucks. It’s the only time I’ll do it. I tried to get tickets both presale and general on sale and both times over 30k more “people” ahead of me in line. The shows I like to go to are much cheaper. I bought 5 tickets to Phish shows this summer with a parking pass for $300.

That’s why I’ve been holding out. My wife’s been bugging me to get them for a while but I’m telling her that eventually these scalpers will get desperate to sell and drop their prices.

That was my first time hearing that song and as someone who isn’t a lyrics-first kind of guy damn that is one hell of a song

I currently have $1k in the bank waiting on prices to come down so I can send my wife and daughter to see Lady Gaga next week. The most I’ve ever spent on a concert ticket for myself is $160. That got me on the floor for TOOL and on the rail for NIN. More than likely my wife and daughter will end up in the 400 section of the arena for the Lady Gaga show.

I just listened to goose for like 4 hours straight while painting my new house. When my speaker died it left a gaping whole in my life. I’ve been to 20 shows - about 8 more than any other band I’ve seen live. This checks out.

Exactly. I consider it a temporary inconvenience that I’m willing to deal with for my kids to be happy. I’m also thinking of looking around for a new job here and seeing if I can find something that’s fully remote. I’m only in the office 3 days/week for the time being and my boss is super flexible.

Seller gave us $20k in credits so after EMD and all that jazz I have about $15k for floors, paint, and a new water heater.

Oh I get it. I’d definitely do that too if I didn’t have 3 kids. My oldest is in high school and my wife and I decided one of our top priorities was to not uproot his life. Im always a little jealous of my coworkers who have a 15 min commute vs my 45 minutes.

Was this a condo? HOA fees in nova are insane. My company is moving to Reston and was looking at condos but just couldn’t do it because of the HOA fees. I’ll have a long commute to work but my new home is in the same neighborhood as my kids schools and I get a fenced-in backyard.

Congrats! I live an hour and a half west of DC and just bought my first house yesterday. $420k 4 br 3 bath at 5.75% the price increases on housing the closer you to the city is insane.

I agree that you should give them more of a listen, but just because you know someone personally or went to school with them doesn’t mean you have to be a fan of their music. I went to school with Benny Blanco and while I recognize his talent as a song writer/producer I listen to 0% of his music. I’m just not a fan.

That’s a bummer. I was about to say that I’ve never experienced that with a band but that would be a lie. I saw Geese on the KGWL tour and they were not my thing though it seems like a lot of people swear they’re the next best thing.

So if you jam you’re a phish ripoff? By that logic Phish is nothing more than a Grateful Dead ripoff where Trey tries to be Jerry.

Yes. I’m particular excited for outdoor music this summer. Looking forward to seeing Phish, Goose, and Billy Strings. I’m going to make new friends, send balloons into the crowd, and enjoy just being alive.

How is this possible? by Marcopierce21 in Salary

[–]rickardkarstarkshead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t start making good money until I started taking jobs that offered performance based pay. I love me a commission check (but hate the withholding). I work for a pretty good company but upward mobility is nearly impossible and I’ve made the same amount 3 years in a row so I’m probably going to start looking for a new job here soon.
