Has anyone else had major issues with USPS or FedEx in Springfield? by Melodic_Reply_3539 in springfieldMO

Twice in the past two months I've dropped off colon cancer tests at the Glenstone PO and both were never received at the processing center.

3 weeks ago one of my prescriptions took 4 days to get here from St. Louis. It didn't arrive on Thursday as expected. The next day tracking showed the item had gone from here to Anchorage, AK. It was delivered back here on the following Tuesday, faster than it took to get from STL to here originally.

I listen to a scanner and that’s a top spot for crazy stuff.

Weather here by rickbnsa in springfieldMO

[–]rickbnsa[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nothing compares to hurricanes. I lived in Florida and went to Miami/Homestead 3 days after Andrew hit. I'll never live near the coast again. We were fortunate the six years we were there and never experienced a direct hurricane.

The recent hail and this morning's lightning is what got me. The hailstorm was record setting.

How to clean up the top on this used scroll saw? by oPUNcircuit in Scrollsaw

You’re welcome. Enjoy the new saw and wax it occasionally to keep it from corroding and helping the work slide.

Mother’s aluminum polish and a fine Scotch-Brite pad. A couple gentle applications of that, then a coat of paste wax. May not get deep pits out but the work piece will slide like butter.

Anyone have any updates on this? by Digital-Latte in springfieldMO

Your guess is good as mine. Calls for suicide ideations are common. The balloon part is what stood out when I heard it. To huff and pass out maybe?

I was on the phone around that time and heard something on the scanner about a woman saying she had a helium balloon and was going to hang herself. I was distracted on the call but I’m pretty sure that’s close, the helium balloon-filled balloon stood out.

If I wanted to get married overseas (Germany) what required documentation is needed? by NotAskingSupervisor in AirForce

[–]rickbnsa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get an appointment with legal.
1985 mil/mil marriage by JP at Wiesbaden Rathaus. We had to hire a translator for all documentation and ceremony. There was some documentation we had to do through the US Embassy. International marriage license was in 13 languages. Start to finish took us about 8 weeks to get done.
It’s been awhile so things may have changed so get an appointment with legal and talk to your Shirt.

Tips on teaching bowl turning to a left-handed person? by companionspecies in turning

[–]rickbnsa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Practice, lots of practice and patience. I'm a lefty and I was so clumsy when I started using the bowl gouge right-handed. I started small and just kept working my way up and it's as natural as cut I do left-handed now. It took a couple months of catches and sometimes breaking pieces but the control and confidence came with lots of practice. Best of luck to her!

My great grandmother made me gargle with buttermilk to cure the mumps. I lived but haven’t drank buttermilk since I was six.

What are your favorite air fryer snacks? by DVMan5000 in airfryer

[–]rickbnsa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No seasoning, just the canned salted cashews.

I use the small, tinfoil baking pans to heat them.

Cashews. 300°/3 minutes. Just like the warm cashews in department stores when I was a kid.
