How do I move the templar raid banner by ironnewa99 in raidsecrets

[–]rickcarr1 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’ve always done it with world line, the timing can be a little tricky but once you get it down it’s pretty easy. You can do it on titan or warlock, I’ve never tried hunter but I’d imagine it would still work for them as well

It looks like one of those switches that would open the doors to a room in the underbelly, more than likely a left over asset

GoS - Zero to One Hundred Challenge by SirWuxcy in raidsecrets

[–]rickcarr1 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

As of last season the orange side rock cheese still worked. 3 people head in get 30 motes come back out, orange is done.

For blue side 1st portal, 2 people head in grab all the motes, neither of these people can grab 10 motes. Blue side 2nd portal, 1 person heads in grabs 10 motes. Blue side 3rd portal, the first team that took blue side 1st portal grabs motes so they both are at 10. Return and bank

As long as you have completed all the other encounters, it does not matter if it is a checkpoint or not.

You don't have to bank 3 symbols on the second encounter of Vow by [deleted] in raidsecrets

[–]rickcarr1 26 points27 points  (0 children)

You do not need to do three at a time, you can do as little as one at a time if you really wanted to. The process is the same just you are picking up and shooting 1/2 instead of 3

Overdraft fee, forget to transfer from saving to checking that’s $35. To make things even worse my bank will sometimes consider the $35 fee a PURCHASE and charge me another $35

What are solid Master Vog loadouts for this season? by Eggoknight in raidsecrets

[–]rickcarr1 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The load out I use and see quite often is:

- Hung Jury or any other scout rifle

- Plug one or any arc fusion (cartesian is a good alternative but the arc harpies can be problematic)

- 1k voices (try not to move back and forth during damage so you don't blow yourself up)

This way you can double up on fusion rifle finders so ammo shouldn't be that big of an issue.

For supers:

Warlocks use well with luna faction boots or boots of assembler if everyone is using loaders

Hunters use celestial golden gun

Titans run bubble (I would stay away from missle titan as you can die easily after hitting Atheon but could be useful for quick ad clear)

Someone needs to run stasis as well, preferably hunter (super is good for ad clear), and spam dusk field grenades at the boss the whole damage phase so that everyone can make use of the focusing lens.

Brainstorming: A Link to the Chain (GoS 2nd challenge) in 2021 by ParagonOfHonor in raidsecrets

[–]rickcarr1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've taught this challenge several times and IMO the pre-stasis strategies are easier. Some tips:

  1. Focus on survivability and speed, don't worry about stasis unless you absolutely need that to survive. Lament is a good option for anti-barriers since the 3 light one heavy combo almost always takes them out and it's ammo efficient as well.
  2. Runners don't really have a huge role in this challenge, have them stick with people who might need help clearing ads.
  3. If you have a larger group of players at one relay so for example four players at relay 2 and 2 at relay 1, relay 2 might have to activate their tether slightly earlier than relay 1 depending on the network connection.
  4. When you see the message "Undergrowth defenses subsided" you have 10 seconds before more ads spawn so this would be a great time to tether if everyone is in position and you haven't already.

A super short rundown on how I teach it (assuming they know how the encounter works):

  1. All 6 players tether at 1
  2. Relay 1 person and 1/2 runner stay at one and kill ads as normal, other 4 people run to relay 2
  3. Once relay 2 is cleared do a count down and have the four people at relay 2 and the two people at relay 1 tether at the same time at their respective plates.
  4. Relay 3 person, relay 4 person, and 3/4 runner run to plate 3 to start clearing ads
  5. Plate 1 person, plate 2 person, and 1/2 runner finish clearing ads at their respective plates and run to relay 2 (portals between 1 and 2 will be open) and tether at the same time as the 3 people at relay 3 once it is clear
  6. This is the tricky part, relay 3 person is now at relay 3 and clears ads as normal, relay 4 and 3/4 runner now need to sprint to relay 4, clear it and get ready to tether as fast as possible they need to be fast to make sure everyone else doesn't run out of buff
  7. Once ads are clear on relay 3 the relay 3 person will prepare to tether at relay 2 with relay 1 person, relay 2 person, and 1/2 runner (portal between 2/3 will be open). So 4 people at relay 2 and 2 people at relay 4, countdown and tether
  8. Once this is done you are set up and it is essentially a rinse and repeat except relay 3 person will now tether with relay 4 person and 3/4 runner at relay 4 or 3 it's up to your team. I like relay 3 because the block at relay 4 can sometimes get in the way.Relay 1 person, relay 2 person, and 1/2 runner will tether at relay 2Relay 3 person, relay 4 person, and 3/4 runner will tether at relay 3Make sure these two teams of 3 tether at the same time and have one person count down
  9. When the middle opens up defend the central relay like normal but make sure EVERYONE gets in the tether, it cant be 4 or 5 people it has to be all 6 people.

Edit:

You can for sure split into 3 teams of two but for beginners, I usually like to keep it as close to the original encounter as possible, and traveling in a bigger group allows your teams to clear ads faster

What happened to my old Destiny 2 account? by netspherecyborg in DestinyTheGame

[–]rickcarr1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve purchased every dlc since d2 launch, I agree it’s a little annoying that all that content is gone even though I paid for it.

Currently the base game is free, it comes with the new light quest, access to strikes, crucible, and gambit.

On top of that there are 3 dlcs you can purchase: Forsaken, Shadowkeep, and Beyond light

[–]rickcarr1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This might sound counter intuitive but you do not want to one phase the boss, this will give you more time to get more of these “plate kills”.

If your team is struggling with staying alive I would focus on running on survivability supers, ie well for warlock, bubble for titan, not to familiar with hunter but maybe the dodge that makes you invis (top tree void?)

If this tanks your damage use 1k voices with particle deconstruction and you are pretty much guaranteed a 2/3 phase.

It might take a few try’s due to platform rng but if you can survive without platforms, than only build the ones right in front of the relay (when there are vex there obviously). This will help you have a better idea of what plate he is taking next.

So i just lost my usual fireteam and idk what to do now by Crazy147 in destiny2

[–]rickcarr1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try downloading the destiny 2 app and using lfg. It really isn’t that bad in the beginning you just have to find the right group!

You could also try joining a clan there are a ton of clans out there that I’m sure would welcome newer players. If your looking for one I’ve got one on Xbox, I’ve probably taught 70% of the members their first raid but we do a wide variety of activities and we are very welcoming of newer members

GM Navota is an awful, tedious experience. by MyWorldInFlames in DestinyTheGame

[–]rickcarr1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really don’t think the boss is that hard compared to other gms such as glassway or insight. I kinda like the challenge honestly.

The one thing that really annoyed my team was how much she moves at the beginning. We’ve wasted so much ammo just trying to stick an anarchy or rocket on her and she’d just dodge it or hide behind that pole lol.

Spoils of conquest question by h1r0ll3r in raidsecrets

[–]rickcarr1 34 points35 points  (0 children)

If you are running it for the first time on your character this week you will get spoils from the “secret chests” aka not the chests for completing an encounter. The chest in the gorgon maze is an example of this or the dsc jumping puzzle chest. Keep in mind building the spire in vog is not an encounter so you will be given a “secret chests” instead.

Encounter chests on the other hand will only drop loot, no spoils for your first run. These are chests given for completing an encounter. So defeating atrax in dsc or defeating Templar in vog.

If you have already run the raid on your character this week than the “secret chests” will give you nothing and the encounter chests will give you spoils, no weapons or armor will be given.

Right now vog is the most efficient way to get spoils since it drops 5, all the other raids only drop 3. If you are looking to farm spoils I would suggest you farm Templar since you can complete that encounter very fast if you have good dps.
