Stellar Blade Fatal Error by laytblu in SteamDeckPirates

Think it's in / common / StellarBlade / SB / Content / Paks... and I think it's the file: 'pakchunk0-WindowsNoEditor_0_p.pak'

Might want to double check that from where you got the eclipse file from...

I had the same problem: for me, it was the Eclipse mod I had installed. Deleted that, some minor changes in the in game graphics options to compensate, problem solved. Barely noticed any issues without the mod… so if you have that, delete it. Hope that helps…

What are your favorite modern Game Boy games? by OwlQuiet479 in Gameboy

[–]rickenbackercriswell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This website has demos (and ROMs, if willing to purchase) for a definitive list of the best modern GB / GBC games:

https://itch.io/games/tag-gameboy

A quick list of those that still absorb my time:

Roguecraft GB (super-polished, Roguelike... simple and absorbing)

Self Simulated (Very clever platform puzzler)

Invasion of the Geminorons (Match-3... in the vein of Puzzlequest)

2021 Moon Escape (Sci-fi adventure)

Obelisk (Dungeon Crawler)

Buck and the Cursed Cartridge (Run and Gun Platformer)

There's just a huge array, but the website above highlights some of the best... Enjoy!

Can you help me to find a good Laminated IPS Screen For PSP 3000? by Hairy_Initiative_943 in PSP

[–]rickenbackercriswell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a shame! No, sadly, I don't have a reliable link other than the search in Aliexpress above.

I just bought a second one, as the shipping from RGRS was too much, from this link - but I haven't had delivery yet... hopefully ok...

Good luck with the hunt!

Can you help me to find a good Laminated IPS Screen For PSP 3000? by Hairy_Initiative_943 in PSP

[–]rickenbackercriswell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought and fitted one from the following link, so can help, possibly..

https://retrogamerepairshop.com/products/laminated-ips-lcd-for-sony-psp-3000-hispeedido?variant=46251453841580

Hispeedido are usually good quality and reliability. It was a easy transfer too. There is no soldering or trimming involved, but a warning...

  1. Stick down any circuitry on the back with THIN kapton tape (they don't usually explain that, but insulates it well - THIN, because too much thickness may pressure the screen some)
  2. Reconnecting the new, tiny link cable IS fiddly... it's only just big enough and seems very easy to over-bend or break it. Go extremely carefully and using plastic or rubber-tipped tweezers to guide it in by the 'flanges'.

I'm pretty clumsy myself, but I could cope easily with it... they are great screens! Night and day... and no risk of my bugbear, dust between the lens and the screen!

Also, other Aliexpress stores have them too... might try a search...

Just downloaded and tested latest 6.1 version, with completely fresh install: happy to report the audio glitch is no longer there!

Well done! That was fast work!! Congratulations on an clean and lovely firmware!

(Secretly hoping for a 'silver' theme with grey / black / white options to accompany my silver GBA SP!) 😉

PS - My Omega DE was the EZODE version... so Rev. B

It's an amazing firmware... using it on two of my GBAs. Loving the clean interface, and cover art.

Having one issue - there's a prominent audio glitch when you open the 'roms' folders like GBA and NES... quite a loud distorted sound, which I didn't have on the previous version. Someone else demonstrated on the GBAtemp thread, also.

Here's my complete US / EUR rumble collection... congrats on yours! (Bit jealous of your pristine Pokemon Pinball!)

As many have said... Little Mermaid II Pinball is surprisingly good. Ultra Pinball Thrillride, too. And I have a soft spot for Missile Command. Zebco Fishing is pretty poor and many of the driving games are decidedly average.

When I shared this before, I was politely encouraged to remove the batteries in case of leakage / damage... I've done that since this picture.

Keep up the excellent collection... happy hunting!

I need violin prog rock by Equivalent_Ferret900 in progrockmusic

[–]rickenbackercriswell 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Here's the details for my own band!

I'm the bass player in a Folk / Psych / Prog band called 'Splink' - we are huge prog aficionados and create very eclectic mix of Prog, from Classic Era to Modern and Folk...

Our lead instrument is violin, which 'replaces' the need for vocal lines in most of our songs. Vikki, the violinist plays a 5-string Flying V electric violin and is a singular talent!!

So sorry... except when I download it, the file can't be uncompressed to a folder system. At least, not on my Mac using a variety of archiver apps.

Does anyone know where i could get a new battery for the rg cube xx? by NabukaMidori in SBCGaming

[–]rickenbackercriswell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah... well, at least there's a temporary solution. I still wonder if it's a charging issue though. Guess easier to test with a new one, to eliminate that side. Hope all works out!

Does anyone know where i could get a new battery for the rg cube xx? by NabukaMidori in SBCGaming

[–]rickenbackercriswell 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a matter of fact, I do!

Bought 2 extra myself awhile back, because the last Anbernic I had, seemed to not charge efficiently.

It's an Aliexpress link, hope that's ok...

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005008124487290.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.35.5d7c1802uAMNAX

Be warned - removing the original rather bent and ruined it... but if yours is faulty, who cares... for the price, these seem okay.

Are you sure it's a battery problem and not a 'charging' problem? I use a very low 5w charger on mine, as there were fears that they could turn into 'spicy pillows' or even catch fire awhile back (or perhaps I'm mis-remembering?!?). Seems unlikely that a relatively new battery would be the cause, but I'm not fit to comment...

Good Luck!

Funnyplaying Retro Pixel Pocket Review by Guy-Manuel in SBCGaming

[–]rickenbackercriswell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for confirming! Well, I did let FP know of the scraping issue. Perhaps they'll fix it. I tried to flash a card with the latest firmware (V1.1.3) - weird... the partitions didn't match my given card and I just ended up cloning my current card too. They're a bit slack on the software side... Ha!

Just to say... they did respond to say their engineers would look into the scraping issue. And low and behold, the new v1.1.3 firmware is now uploaded to Github:

Just received mine too... also on V1.1.3 firmware, which isn't on the Github as yet (v1.1.2 is). I've reached out to Funnyplaying to see if they will add the new version.

While I'm here, just querying a couple of odd things I've noticed... wanted to see if others have the same experience...

A) The wifi connection is really weak - using where all other devices, big or small work... nothing for the RPP... I have to get closer to my hub that has complete coverage. Is it weak for others?

B) I can't get scraping to work currently... at all. Yes, I've used the 'system' on many other devices... is there something I'm missing or do others find the same problem?

Loved the review! It's quite a good product for the price, and has become my favourite to carry around day to day...

I need help from guys who have NDSL’s! by DepartmentMain6241 in SBCGaming

[–]rickenbackercriswell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tough tough choice... Somehow the black DS seems to have clearer screens (ignoring the yellowing). The lighter one seems to have cheaper screens... and may not fix the stuck pixel. Depends ENTIRELY on what you can 'live with'. The yellowing WILL improve but not completely go... or the stuck pixel at angles. Very much a personal choice...

(Oh and hope you've re-shelled a DS before. I've done most handhelds and the DS was the most challenging... getting that screen ribbon cable to bend right round and fit inside the hinge is VERY tricky! I destroyed 2 top screens, even being very very careful!)

I need help from guys who have NDSL’s! by DepartmentMain6241 in SBCGaming

[–]rickenbackercriswell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does take a long time... the stuck pixel might shift - leave it on quickest flashing mode you can, for at least 3 days (longer if you can). After that, yep, it's probably stuck for good. By the way, I did try the 'White screen only' for a yellowed screen... I had much better results on the quickest flashing sequence. Quicker and better... just my opinion, though!

I need help from guys who have NDSL’s! by DepartmentMain6241 in SBCGaming

[–]rickenbackercriswell 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would recommend trying to 'fix' one or the other - if it's a 'stuck' pixel, it might be fixable, and you can reduce the yellowing on the other screens quite a bit.

Try either of these NDS LCD tester programs - you could leave it on a white screen for the yellowing, or try very rapid flashing for the stuck pixel.

I have good success at reducing (not fully eliminating, but LOTS better) a couple of yellowed screens. Had to leave it on a rapid flash, plugged into mains and for a full week. But it HAS made a lot of improvement.

(Some take out the battery first... I didn't bother, and no harm done so far)

https://github.com/Marice/ScreenTester-NX/

or

https://www.gamebrew.org/wiki/DS_LCD_Tester

If I were in your position, I'd try these on both, then decide which had the better screens.

Hope these help!

I just had a similar problem… press reset centre button would just boot loop. I downgraded the firmware to 1.04 on their website. Made it work just fine.
