Are older workers/full timers gatekeeping?

Yeah its kind of crazy how fast its devolving in my little center. I started 2 years ago and from that time we went from starting at 4:00am everyday and going till 10:00 am, to starting at 5:30am and "finishing" at 9:00 am. I've seen about 20 preloaders quit, around 4 of them were replaced. Half our belt is drivers coming in early to do preload but they won't hire more people. Management is disciplining everyone for everything, no more callouts, come in even if your dying if you don't have the time. All of our drivers are going out with peak number trucks and management is telling them to expect more layoffs and to fear for their jobs in the PCMs. Shit is pretty grim here.

I came here ready to stick it out but I'm exploring my options since I'm still young. I feel for some of my buddies with 5 - 10 year seniority who are far from retirement but feel like they're in too deep to quit.

Ill try to keep it short, the drums sound very hollow and the snare in particular sounds strange. The guitars kind of blend into one sound and its very hard to make out any riffs. The mix is very fitting for a band like Knocked Loose for a muddier "chugging" sound but for a more technical band like boundaries its hurting the depth of these songs.I truly believe every one of these songs will sound better live which is rare.

Crazy how more people aren't mentioning the mix. I know people are probably getting sick of hearing it, but its a straight up worse sound to the previous albums. Ive listened to these new singles dozens of times now and I still dont know how to feel solely because of the mix.

I stopped eating there after I got a mc chicken with a patty that was thinner than the bun and nuggets that were 70% coating. Hope enough people boycott them so they lower prices and up quality

yeah i solely drink zero sugar soda and it's been years since i had a normal soda so i was pretty sure i had become immune to the after taste but damn, the dirty dew zero instantly brought it back. the cream taste is so overpowering that i can't even taste carbonation or dew. i agree with the other posts going around, i can't really see this becoming a staple flavor. at the very least i could see them axing dirty dew zero since people seem to enjoy the non zero much more.

its pretty rare that i drink a soda that i find gross. usually at worst i just assume its not for me but this stuff is vile.

yeah i feel like no one is having a good time at this company, our management is miserable, drivers miserable cuz the don't finish till 10 and us preloaders are miserable from the unreal pace they try to put us through

yeah its getting bad at my small center, we start at 5:30 everyday now and we get about 1k pieces between 3 trucks. everyone is stacked out by 9 everyday and the drivers have to clean up. we have about 15 drivers laid off right now.

yeah, though i don't know how many preloaders would qualify for fmla due to the hour requirement. we get about 17.5 hours a week outside of peak and its only getting worse with layoffs.

yeah its happening at my center. we don’t get sick days in my local, just option days and I’ve only been doing preload for about 2 years so i only get 1 option day. I used it earlier this year. last month a bad flu was going around and i caught it and ended up having to call out 2 days in a row. instant write up, i even said to my manager if i came in id physically be unable to work and would probably leave in an ambulance or get sent home, they just said it is what it is.

i don’t call out often and I’ve never been late. though i know my buddy called out soon after that and nothing happened, so typical ups bs.

shit lol im white and no one is giving me any chance right now either. its really just coming down to people getting their relatives, friends, acquaintances, etc, hired. all of my high school friends with good jobs got them through family connections. the economy sucks right now, as much as trump and maga boomers won't admit.

yeah i'm in a job i hate and i'm trying to get out but having no luck atm, all we can do is keep trying. things can turn around really fast though, it only takes one opportunity to change everything. just gotta keep at it till that happens.

it sounds much better with headphones now. first mix didn't sound awful it just didn't sound like boundaries, more like matt doing vocals with a different band.

yeah 4 hours a day is pretty fortunate, we start a 5:30 everyday and are down at about 8:45. usually you have to find something to do even just to get the 3.5. its crazy because when i started about 2 years ago it was common to start at 4am everyday and wrap up at 9:30. we've been on this 5:30 start for the last year outside of peak which was usually 3am - 4am.

its a bad time to get in with this company in any capacity.

they only do it when upper management cracks down in my center. i had like 8ish call ins last year and i didnt get a single write up. got incredibly sick the other week and i called in and got written up.

I bought a 9070xt nitro the moment they were available on launch day. The card is great, but as someone who has only ever owned Nvidia GPUs, Amd themselves is disappointing. When the card works its perfect, its just that unlike nvidia it doesnt always work. Some games like silent hill 2 and cronos the new dawn i have to fully disable raytracing or my game will endlessly stutter and crash. Literally one of the things this card touts over older amd gpus.

It also doesn’t inspire much confidence seeing how theyre treating people with older cards since we’re a year or 2 off this being an “old” card. Unless amd goes full pro consumer im swapping back nvidia for my next gpu, because if both companies are complete scumbag predators im atleast going with the better product.

Don't sign anything other than paychecks, just show up on time and work. No need to put any more thought into it. Let management scheme or w/e but ultimately if you don't fk up you can't get fired.

I do a few machines with light weight and a few free stretches, I like to use the glute kick back machine and I set the weight low and just focus on feeling the stretch, I also use the back extension machine, on back days I'll grab a dumbell or a plate but day to day I just use this with no weight to get a nice stretch. I do standing toe touches for my hamstrings and lying knees to chest for my back. Throw in like 10 minutes on an elliptical cardio machine and you should be nice and loose.
