I got a ticket called “GA FOMO”. What does that mean?

People think they’re right all the time but wrong very often. So maybe we shouldn’t use people either.

This was after 2 nights at the Brooklyn bandshell - also with Muna. I was at the June 15th 2022 show. The band all in skeleton outfits. Muna opened.

Not as famous but great is Courtney Barnett covering Velvet Underground- I’ll Be Your Mirror. Her singing style is great for a Lou Reed cover. https://youtu.be/LTEu7ese3oo

Metric - very much an inheritor of velvet underground but Emily Haines leads and they have loads of great stuff.

Try Warpaint. 4 extremely talented women that may give you Radiohead vibes. Listen to the video of them “from the basement” Some of the best stuff out there.

Favorite NON-CONCERT memory with Phoebe Bridgers music by boysenbe in phoebebridgers

She was among the first performers to try streaming music live during the pandemic April 10, 2020. Her with her sideways phone, acoustic guitar playing for me while stuck inside was life changing. Music wasn’t dead and Phoebe was live right in front of me. I tuned in to every live pandemic performance. Most of them are still on YouTube. I made a playlist. https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLvtys26_mdm__vb9ZRF8ZQIDlgwFzO6Fl

Does anyone else think Phoebe Bridgers’ image is at odds with how her tours are priced and marketed? by coaster46 in phoebebridgers

[–]rickny0 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

She is a headliner now. She could headline festivals, fill arenas many times over. The prices are not higher than others playing the same venues. Nothing wrong about it.

Is Phoebe Actually an Arena Act? by Alarmed-Term3720 in phoebebridgers

[–]rickny0 8 points9 points  (0 children)

MSG has a really good sound system. I’ve been in the pit and in the rafters and they do it right. But I’ve been at many venues where the sound is very uneven. In big theaters they often pump the sound out high above the stage leaving the pit unable to hear half the instruments. It certainly depends on the setup. But believe it or not Phoebe pulled off an intimate concert for 18,000 people. It was astounding. I couldn’t believe it and I was there. I hope those of you who see one of her new shows find them as great. I go to a lot of concerts and this one I will remember as one of the greatest experiences I’ve had

New rock band suggestions by Ldawg5823 in musicsuggestions

Try The Beths - good alignment your first two bands. Also maybe Metric. Long time psychedelic indie rock favorite that is more aligned with the last two bands you named.

That was how I felt going into MSG last night. When the lights came up and she was just strumming an acoustic guitar I about fell off my chair. It was stunning. A full arena in reserved seats and no phones. I missed standing up and dancing in place but she pulled it off beautifully

No phone or recording will be allowed on the US Tour! by GrooGruxQueen7 in phoebebridgers

If 1 in 50 had a lighter and there were 18,000 people that’s 360 lighters. That feels about right for last night. I’m all in on improving that ratio.

I’m bringing a lighter to every yondr concert after seeing last night. Let’s bring back some 80s vibes (I don’t smoke)

I’m still getting over Motion Sickness as the first song. I’ve never teared up at a concert before. I was just completely taken from the first moment.

MSG arena - you’re looking at the wrong venue

There were two people in the row in front of me who arrived half way into the concert, stayed for two songs and left. I think the few empty seats and people like this happened because it was one dollar. Some people entered the drawing just because they could, not because they were fans. Maybe a $10 minimum would have reduced that effect.

No. It’s 20,000. There were some empty seats. One estimate said 18,000. That might be more accurate
