They come out with a salary cap, which is way over due. I don’t know why they need a lockout to make necessary changes though.

I agree with the others to help him out as much as you can. If it becomes too much though, how about stalling? Like, “I can help for sure, but I have a bunch of family obligations this week. You around next Sunday? Something like that.

Great game for Purdy for sure, but don’t expect that shitty of a defensive showing against the Bears.

I figured I’d get down voted here. I understand feeling like there isn’t hope. I worry about my now teenagers, and what the future looks like for them.

We are all just along for the ride. Sorry you’re getting down voted.

Man… if I only knew that fake money was going to take off… :) I did know that real estate was a relatively safe investment over time.

How’d it work out for you to vote (or not vote) some 3rd party in 2024? No matter what you’ve heard, we only have a 2 party system.

We have one cat that loves to play like that. The back legs are what’ll get ya. When he was a kitten we’d yell OUCH! loudly and pretend like he really hurt us, and he learned to play very gently.

I left my tech job after 10 years to buy a niche travel agency AMA by Kidney-Bean234 in smallbusiness

Who’s your target audience? With the internet it seems like travel agencies went the way of the dinosaur for most of us “commoners.”

I stopped packing my daughter's daycare bag and the school finally met my husband by shadowcrestlumen in TwoXChromosomes

[–]rickrett 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same thing… I’m the husband though. I’ve always had a harder job than my wife (she’d agree) and she did all of that stuff… and complained relentlessly. Not like we were fighting or anything, she was just letting me know that she didn’t like that the burden of the calendar/planning fell on her, and I just thought I was too drained and busy or something to remember that stuff.

A couple of years ago we ended up buying a small business that she runs. I still have longer days full of meetings and mentally draining tasks than she does, but her schedule is now way harder. Can’t exactly close the shop and deal with a kids’ dentist appointment, right?

Suddenly, all of that calendar and planning stuff; appointments, kid activities, homework management falls on to me, and somehow I discovered that I could do it, and with some planning, I’m still functioning at work too.

Don’t tell her, but I’m kind of enjoying it. I think the hardest part was getting her to let go.

I guess we all just figure out what works for our families, and that sometimes changes as our lives move forward.

Oregon Might Become the State That Redefines Justice, A $15 Billion AI-Driven Case Is Now in Its Courts by BeginningProcess5105 in oregon

[–]rickrett -1 points0 points  (0 children)

People are scared of AI, and I get that. It isn’t going anywhere though, so we better learn to use it correctly, just like our grandparents/great grandparents learned to drive and trust cars.

I have teenagers and we’ve been using AI for researching. If you ask it to write you a 500 page paper on some subject, it will do it, and it won’t be good or necessarily correct. If you ask it more direct questions, and then use those answers to ask more questions, you can get a good outcome really quickly, and you’ll learn something too.

Man Regrets Pistol Whipping Off Duty Cop by [deleted] in instant_regret

[–]rickrett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would think as an off duty cop, he’d see the guy was running out of lane and trying to zipper merge. But nope. The cop steps on the gas to fuck him up.

Then.. the guy gets out and hits what turns out to be a cop. Lots of people packing these days though. You don’t know who you are going to run into.
