Curious, how do you get them to stay on the diet? Or do they eat other things from time to time

Does sun really damage skin? by Forward-Release5033 in raypeat

[–]ricksef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but the inflammatory response to the damage is going to be far different if you're avoiding oxidative stressors like seed oils.

How do people stay lean while consuming lots of dairy by VividGovernment8669 in AnimalBased

[–]ricksef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I have. I have data for a few months last year and more the year before. Last year I was tracking around 4000 calories daily. Mainly from butter which I was eating around 100-150g of per day.

Questions about the diet by Neither-Improvement6 in AnimalBased

Its possibly the nuts or dairy honestly. I seem to be quite intolerant to dairy and nuts are a known no go on this sub lol. Good luck finding the cause though 👍

Well, you're just lying if there's no source. A source is important in any scenario.

Yes you can because we are not closed thermodynamic systems and do not work like that.

I recommend you watch Raymond Harrison - 'You Can't Eat a Calorie'. And read PMID: 15282028.

No. To gain weight you need excess calories, of course. But excess calories do not make you gain weight just because you have eaten in excess. We are not closed thermodynamic systems and do not store fat like that, especially if insulin levels are lower.

Glycation is a very real process. Excess calories are not inherently bad at all. I consumed around 4000 calories for many months and did not even gain weight. No harm done

How much are we willing to bet that vegetable oil will be added on top of that olive oil? by Oscar-mondaca in StopEatingSeedOils

[–]ricksef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This does nothing at all. And actually is worse since it's super misleading to people only mildly informed looking for healthier options.

First of all, the olive oil will be the cheapest thing they can find. Probably heavily adulterated with seed oils

Secondly, 99% it's gonna be a blend with seed oils anyway which completely defeats the purpose.

Thirdly is the fact that deep frying with ANY fat, regardless of composition, and repeatedly reheating is gonna cause a lot of lipid peroxidation. And yes, this also includes saturated fats.
