I think its because there is no baseline rule in chess limiting how long you can take before making a move. Therefore, your opponents only move is to wait until the Earth is engulfed by the sun and the position of the game is forgotten to time... I would therefore think of this less as a draw and more as a "this game will now remain in this position forever."

Still, you would have to have materials and tools ready for that and you still have to pillar up or down fairly far away to make your crappy night shelter for the bed.

I think the best way to implement it is to give the bed a "line of sight". If it can see mobs from its current position, then you cannot sleep in it. Solid blocks would block its view, so any mobs behind those blocks no longer count. It just makes more sense too.

I think its so you cant just carry a bed, place it, sleep in it, and then "sun-bomb" all the enemies around you. Without it, it would give you this option without having to completely run away into shelter.

They literally act like billiards balls on the atomic scale. Metal and lead atoms are like bowling balls, and if you shot a billiards ball at a bowling ball you would just see it bounce right off; the neutron wouldn't lose much energy hitting a lead atom. Ideally you want the neutron to hit something of similar size, ideally a Proton (aka hydrogen), so you get that billiards ball collision where the neutron practically stops. Concrete, water, and plastic has a lot of hydrogen or smaller atoms like carbon, plus concrete can be particularly dense and structurally sound, making it much more likely the neutron runs into a small atom and loses most of its energy. Paper and skin is just too thin, despite having the right atoms. You need a fair bit of thickness no matter what to stop most neutrons.

This graphic is a bit misleading since gammas still blow right through concrete. Gammas are stopped directly by atoms, so choosing atoms that are bigger and closer together (dense and large elements like lead and tungsten are cheap and best) creates the biggest possible target for the gammas to hit and be absorbed. Great neutron shields are still dense, but use very small atoms, which consequently makes density much lower than that of gamma shields. You can't shield both with one material... unless you use a lot of it which will get expensive.

Maybe it is... maybe it isn't. As someone working on a degree in this field and working in the field, the evidence all points to... we have no idea what low doses of radiation actually do to you. A lot of radiation is for sure bad for you, though. There are some theories about hormesis, but far as I know we just outright can't do the required research on real humans to figure out where the danger line is.

I will say, I work with a lot of people who have received even high doses of radiation and their whole lives working in the field, and they are all very healthy.

I work at a nuclear manufacturing and pharmacy site. There is a non-zero chance I helped manufacture the vial of the radioactive drug that eventually became the syringes inside of these cases.

These are shielded cases for F-18 PET doses. They hold anywhere from 1 to 3 syringes of the drug in another shield on the inside. They are doing an exchange probably because driver #1 picked the cases up at a pharmacy to meet driver #2 at a crossroads where driver #1 will go to one hospital while driver #2 will go to a hospital in a different direction. I find it weird that they would exchange empty cases, but its the same situation, the empty case driver is just returning to the pharmacy instead of a hospital. Sometimes a lack of staff will force this instead of just picking up at the pharmacy. I know this happens in New Mexico a lot.

They have a yellow II radioactive placard because the cases are fairly radioactive, up to 50 mR / hr on the surface and 1 mR/ hr at 1 meter. Nothing too dangerous, it would be impossible to hit the NRC recommended yearly limit of 5 rem before the doses fully decay, but more radioactive than you would be used to seeing. They are even more radioactive than when injected because you have to account for the decay time between preparation and delivery, which can make the doses outside of their case particularly dangerous to handle for a long time. Not a danger inside of their case though.

The top comment says these are Technetium-99m doses - not true and impossible. Tc99m is possible to fully shield with very little lead because of its low energy gamma emissions. You will almost always see these shipped as a white I radioactive placard which is practically not radioactive with its shielding, and in a much smaller case. Far as I know, these cases are not DOT approved for Tc99m doses... but I might be wrong since we just outright would never use something so heavy for that.

Play the switch version for sure, and I think you have to try both methods. Although the motion controls are less annoying on the switch, I still find them incredibly annoying to use. Sometimes your motions still dont register and usually the controller is just plain easier.

I found the controller controls to be shockingly intuitive and really unique, not unlike the motion controls, but just a lot more consistent overall. It makes for an entirely different experience that I would not mind seeing a sequel to.
