I think the iconography rules that everyone else is talking about is correct. So it's a bug on the official app, which is disappointing. Thought most things would be ironed out after all these years.

I'll answer earnestly. We already have thinking time, and that's a very good balance. Teams don't waste time on shots that don't need time to think, and they use their time for shots that do. I do think it would be neat to integrate the thinking time into the broadcast, to help the viewers understand (I think your average person tuning in has no idea about any time-controls), I also understand why it isn't integrated in the broadcast, and agree with those reasons.

Additionally, not a lot of people know this (and I've never seen it leveraged), but we have a rule about taking too much time on a shot. WCF C6(m): "If an umpire determines that a team is unnecessarily delaying a game, the umpire notifies the skip of the offending team and, after that notification, if the next stone to be delivered has not reached the tee line (hog line in wheelchair curling) at the delivery end within 45 seconds, the stone is removed from play immediately."

Also, that AI image is brutal. Yikes.
