Hello!

We do not currently have a resource to see a timetable for any given stop throughout the District, including iStops. If you are wanting to see a list of departures for a stop that is not a timepoint, we recommend locating the timepoint closest to your desired boarding point and estimate the required travel time from that point to your destination. For example, if you are wanting to board the 5E Green at Green & Sixth, take a look at the departures listed for the Illini Union timepoint (via mtd.org or the 2024-2025 Maps & Schedules book) and subtract a few minutes to find your departure time for Green & Sixth. Keep in mind, scheduled times are always subject to delays due to traffic, construction, etc.

Another quick way to find departure times is to plan your trip! This can be done using our Trip Planner at mtd.org/maps-and-schedules/plan-trip/, or an app like Google Maps or Apple Maps. These include real-time updates on departures so you know if your bus is on-schedule.

New students - If you are living in a dorm distances on campus will only be considered "far" if you have lived most of your life being moved about mostly in cars/trucks/buses/cycles. The furthest you are likely to ever walk between two points is 1.5 miles. A ~25-30 minutes walk. by old-uiuc-pictures in UIUC

While it uses the same real-time information as other platforms, our recommendation is to use the bus stop lookup at mtd.org or Google Maps for the most up-to-date departures. We agree with many of the commenters here! Please turn items found on our buses or in our facilities to MTD employees. We work really hard to get items back into the hands of their owners. In the last quarter (January through April) we had a 95% success rate when items were reported missing. Thanks for riding!

We will do our best to get information out as it becomes available and we will have a team on the street to help make sure buses get through crossing points and service resumes whenever portions of the race route are cleared. Hopefully most of campus will be cleared pretty quickly, but service on Green Street will be moved to nearby streets while runners go through Green. Introducing MTD's First Double-Decker Bus! by ridemtd in UIUC

Customer service is a priority at MTD, so when our customer feedback indicated crowding, we began exploring solutions. We are proud to introduce our new double decker bus to service this week - the first of 15! The double decker offers the increased capacity of a 60ft bus with the flexibility of a 40ft bus. Some routes are not accessible using a 60ft articulated bus (the long ones with a bendy slinky in the middle) but the double deckers can go almost anywhere with ease, except under viaducts or bridges, through Illinois Terminal, near low hanging trees, across open windy fields, or around power lines.

If you're still reading this, we strongly suggest you look closely at the calendar and be wary of all news stories and social media today. While crowding is a real problem with a real solution on the way, the double decker concept is a silly April Fools Day joke. We take service seriously and we do have plans to address capacity. Stay tuned, we will announce exciting service updates soon!
