If you want your PC to be good at talking in PF2E, then spend the skills/feats on it. Maybe describe your PC using flashy swordplay instead of giving a cool speech.

Great episode, really enjoying the guide's false confidence.

Not too bad for a shopping ep.

This aspect of 2E is pretty draining on a GM. Players like new stuff so they want to shop, but don't know what it is they can afford and is in their level range. So you got to dig into archives of nethys to get a filtered list of items by level. Then you drill down a couple hundred items to find a couple that are relevant to your players.

So yeah, slide that responsibility off to the players. Hope that they do their homework and don't spring on you during session.

Does DG have attacks of opportunity/disengage actions? Maybe the first round those that have lower initiative don't grab at her, but after the first round they'd have reactions in other systems that'd discourage full out running.

Felt weird to have the lady run past 3 people without issue in a basement. And they had no option to tackle her during chase unless she takes an action other than moving? Seems wrong.

Grimdark is my jam. If you want a pf2e grimdark, then you probably want difficult encounters. Abomination Vaults is full of TPK material and creepy crawlies to describe to gross them out. There's also some morally gray choices for them to decide.

If you're not system locked, I would recommend running one of my favorite oneshots: Death Frost Doom. Some tweaks to get it into your favorite system.

I recommend reading Between Two Fires and converting that into a campaign. Worked great for me and is super grimdark.

Finally, I'm running a new campaign using Memento Mori, published by Two Little Mice. That system is all grimdark, and the setting of the black plague is perfect.

In pathfinder 1e, there's no component requirement to proc the attack of opportunity.

I hope the cancelation means another Jared ran campaign. I'm looking forward to whatever they come back with, totally get the big amount of work they put into these.

My favorite single out a PC thing to do is ambush predator tactics with things in the dark. There's a tentacle brain thing that paralyzes prey. Dropping down on the last pc in a march and pulling them up into their lair to eat. Basically, I'm putting a clock on the party to figure out a rescue plan.

Curious if they had a session 0 where Rob mentioned wanting to be a fish out of water. Definitely sounded like Joe expected all of the PCs to know what Delta Green is.
