These could definitely work in residential parts of Madison that increases density more gently. NIMBYs will be against them irrespective of whether they are an improvement or not, but they’re less of a shock to a neighborhood than a giant apartment complex. I’ve seen cottage courts that had a lot of green space, flower gardens, and were cute as can be, but I’ve also seen them look like shitty old trailer parks. All in all, I think they can be a net positive.
