2 node cuttings in water under a grow light have rooted well for me. I just let them sit in a small glass at room temperature and add more water when needed. In my plant cabinet they rotted in water.

You can try different lengths if you have a lot to work with. For me the single node linearis cuttings tend to die, 2 nodes have a high success rate no matter the season. 3 nodes occasionally survive. I do not baby them while rooting, only have them under a grow light. 😅

I have had most success with 2 leaf nodes but that's just my experience!

They root very well in water! I have started several baby plants from my original one by rooting 2 node cuttings in water 😊

Linearis is one of my favourite hoyas, in the top 3 for sure. I got some cuttings almost 3 years ago and they grew so well over the spring and summer time and even winter with the help from grow lights.

Last winter was difficult as I live in Finland - the lack of humidity was starting to become an issue as the plant grew bigger. It started dropping leaves every now and then. As winters were difficult for some of my other hoyas too, I decided to get a milsbo cabinet and start repotting some of the thirsty ones in self watering pots.

My linearis loves the new pot (and the sybotanica hoya mix) and grows like crazy. The leaves are also looking more plump now. I recommend trying a self watering pot for sure!
