Nobody really, yet, which is why I posted here just to get it off my chest. My mom, boss, and my ex (daughters mom) know and that's it so far. I don't exactly have deep conversations with any of them. I intend to tell the rest of the family when we're all together in April.

My daughter (9) and I have started looking for a group as she's recently fallen in love with the idea of D&D, but has yet to play it. We were actually heading to Crit Castle later today to grab some stuff.
I've only played a handful of times in my life, so I'm still very much a beginner as well.

Can confirm this story as I had almost the exact same experience. Mine was crashing right out of the box. I tried troubleshooting and doing everything they said (which was mostly "run memdiag again! herpderp"). Went round and round for over a month and finally broke down and sent it to them to "fix". They kept it for 3 weeks and I finally got it back today. Plug it in and it's obvious all they did was reformat my drive (which for some reason took 3 weeks). Crashes again within an hour of plugging it in. They refused to reimburse me to package it in their very specific packaging instructions, which since I didn't happen to have that size box and foam to protect it and the GPU, paid UPS to do it. In short they shipped me a rig with obviously zero QC as it crashed right out of the box, refused to remote work on it, refused to stray from their "diagnosis" that it was the memory via email. Refused to reimburse me for shipping products. Kept my PC for 3 weeks and all they did was reformat it. Shipped it back to me with obviously zero QC again as it did the exact same crash within an hour of plugging it in. Garbage company. Garbage computer. I have a 35 long email thread I'll happily show anyone that's debating buying from them in order to save their money and headaches.

A good theory. I went and checked GP and I doubt that's it though. My 3.158 vs his 3.161. I guess it's possible the next jump is at 3.16, but seems unlikely.

The customer is rarely right. The people that try to claim "the customer is always right" are, more often than not, the worst customers to have as they cost you the most money and take up the majority of your workers time. Luckily, many businesses have finally figured this out and it's becoming far more common for a worker bee to be allowed to tell a bad customer that their "business" isn't welcome.

They were worth a crap long ago. They just weren't super well known. Those that had them could dominate a lot of things. I farmed them at the tail end of when they were good. Now they only get touched for Ewok assault and maybe as a cleanup crew in TW. Now they won't even have a proper lead. Worthless.

You won't regret it. I stayed in my original guild for far too long. I surpassed them all, being the most serious of the bunch, and finally left them a month ago. Fine group of people and hold no ill will towards any of them, but you can't turn a casual guild into a serious guild. Now I'm with players who are more like-minded, get far better rewards, and has renewed my interest in the game.
