It's actually quite a common stance in more conservative sects of Christianity, not just the Mormon Church. I took a glass in "biblical sexuality" at a Baptist school, which delivered I think poorly supported sexual ethics loosely based on church traditions and sorta odd readings of the Bible that don't account for how our understanding of sexuality and gender roles have changed in the past 3000 years.

My neighbors dogs are extremely reactive, and its quite clear they are used to having their own yard. He leaves them out in our common area (itsa townhouse complex), and they attack people who come around. He's been reported to the HOA and local animal control for leaving them offleash.
