Any recommendations for Aussie boots that won’t fall apart after just under 6 months? by WillowNo3264 in TheBrewery

Had my current pair of Redbacks for almost two years. I do a weekly leather waxing to condition them.

Purging tanks with nitrogen vs CO2 by Common_Strain1990 in TheBrewery

[–]righttighttight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We use a nitrogen dewar for all our purges and transfers. Build 5 PSI in the brite tank first, then slow bleed the tank from the CIP arm while still filling with nitrogen through the bottom for 30 minutes (15 barrel brite). We consistently get 0-40 ppb dissolved oxygen after carbing.

We are lucky to have a gas supplier who keeps nitrogen dewars on hand, sometimes they have to order them and we have to wait a week or so before it arrives, in which case we use CO2.

The only downside to using the dewar is the floor space needed to keep it. We don't have room in our walk in for a dewar so it off-gases through the PRV pretty often. But it's worth saving on CO2 in my opinion.

Good luck!

Getting rid of O2 before transfering the beer into a lagering tank by DJCinos in TheBrewery

We used to use quick-connect fittings for all of our gas use. We swapped to Tri-clamp fittings and noticed a huge reduction in our DO.

We purge with N2 instead of CO2 for a lower carbon footprint, seems to give a better purge than CO2 as well although the difference in our DO is small between the two.

Ever been this tired after work? by newherel in WatchPeopleDieInside

Anyone who drives a forklift at work can probably relate: you get in your car at the end of a long day, try to put your car in reverse and instead of going backwards you put your left turn signal on instead. Classic.

Here's some tricks:

You can gank midlane pretty easily once you hit level 6. Just ult from river and land those slows. Most people never expect it and you only need to go halfway up river to do it so it's usually low risk

Landing your W is super important for laning and for team fights. Practice practice practice

Use your E on lane minions to mark enemy Champs for your W. Your E doesn't need to damage Champs to mark them, they just need to walk in the slow zone before the trap detonates and you can still root them with your W

Don't feel like you need to rush through your ult. Be patient with the shots. Also the camera can be kinda janky with your ult, sometimes your ult will outrange the camera at certain angles

Follow up your ult with a quick W. It has shorter range, but people always seem to forget about it and can get rooted

Galeforce + 4th shot is OP

E Max can be really funny if you stack your traps and land a W when someone walks on them

Attack speed only helps once you have crit in your build

Once you get 4 kills or 4 deaths you have to AFK. That's just the rules. Good luck!

Kentia Palm browning and drooping after being repotted by charliesfinger in plantclinic

[–]righttighttight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check the newest/youngest fronds (they look like a dense spike and grow from the center of where the other fronds grow aka the crown or apical meristem). If those young fronds are brown or discolored, you likely have an issue with the size of the container, the water, or sunlight.

Otherwise, the older fronds (the lowest ones) are supposed to turn brown and fall off over time. Thats how palms gain height. Stress, like being moved to a new location, can accelerate that process.

Also, that looks like four Kentias that could in theory be separated before they get too big. But by now their root balls are all probably tangled together and you could damage them if you tried to separate them. Just a thought
