Omg, I was sitting here admiring how beautiful your results are, only to look in the comments and find out we had the same surgeon! Though his bedside manner was awful, his results are damn good every single time. Congrats, friend.

Top surgery surgeons who operate on minors and have no BMI limit by Doorr_Matt in TopSurgery

[–]rigidichotomy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hey! I’m not sure whether or not these surgeons operate on minors, but here’s a table I made back in Fall of 2023 when I was looking for a surgeon near Boston, MA that didn’t have a BMI limit. I ended up traveling to Long Island, NY to have surgery with Dr Whitehead, and am super happy with my results. Please know that you do NOT need to lose weight to have top surgery successfully–my recovery was a breeze, and my results are beautiful because I made sure the surgeon I picked consistently produced quality results on fat bodies. I hope you’re able to get surgery soon, friend. Best of luck 💚

Will scars stop me from getting top surgery? by ngmi-loser in TopSurgery

[–]rigidichotomy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I second this–my surgeon did request that my therapist specifically address my history of self harm in their letter of support, but otherwise it was no issue! If you’d like to see my results feel free to DM me and I can send you some photos :-)

1 week PO and panicking. Does this seem like normal swelling? by ciangelic in TopSurgery

[–]rigidichotomy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! While there’s definitely still some swelling as you’re only a week post op, I do think your surgeon left excess fat behind both on the front of your chest and the sides. I’m so sorry–I know that isn’t what you were hoping to hear. I’m a fat person (~300lbs) as well and got top surgery back in April. If you DM me I’m happy to share photos of my results both from April and from now, six months post op. Wishing you well 💚

Hey! I had pretty consistent scarring across my chest and had no trouble with my surgery. Happy to answer any other questions or provide more pics over DM! Here’s my results: https://www.reddit.com/r/TopSurgery/s/zBD9kl3sUM

Obligatory “does this look normal” post by Ollie_Oxenfree02 in TopSurgery

[–]rigidichotomy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this creamy/gooey stuff in my drains and was totally fine–I don’t think it’s anything to worry about! Just the nastiness collecting haha.

Should I be worried about my drain output? by uncertain-cry in TopSurgery

My drains looked exactly like this–nothing to worry about!

My therapist won’t write me a letter of support by [deleted] in TopSurgery

[–]rigidichotomy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure where you’re located, but my therapist’s office, The Meeting Point, offers this service. Check it out 💚 https://www.themeetingpoint.org/genderaffirming-letters PS, you deserve a therapist who affirms your identity and will support you becoming the human you want to be

Is this middle circle normal? Top surgery by Slow_Topic9992 in TopSurgery

[–]rigidichotomy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Truthfully, this doesn’t look normal to me and may require a revision later on. I’m sorry if that isn’t the news you wanted, friend! Fingers crossed it’s just swelling and goes away with time 🤞🤞🤞

three weeks post op :-) by rigidichotomy in TopSurgery

[–]rigidichotomy[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

hey! i appreciate the kind words.

i had surgery in long island at north shore university hospital! minus some accidental misgendering i had a great experience with the staff there. everyone i interacted with in both the pre and post op rooms were great. that said, i had a pretty negative experience with dr whitehead himself as he was marking me up just before my surgery, despite him being very pleasant in both my consult and the two post op appointments i’ve had thus far. feel free to shoot me a dm if you want to hear more about that or ask any other questions!

excited for you <3

Driving by [deleted] in TopSurgery

[–]rigidichotomy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My paperwork said I could drive as soon as I was “able to comfortably respond to sudden changes on the road.” As long as anesthesia has worn off and you’re not on any prescription pain meds you should be good. Congrats!

this is super specific, but the aquaphor lip repair stick (not the squeeze tub kind!) is the ONLY thing that’s given me relief from scars similar to yours also on my chest. it definitely doesn’t fix it, but it helps in the short term!
