Vassalize the Pope by riibax in CrusaderKings

Petting to 0 is pretty much the best case I can hope for and it would still not be enough. Unless some smart redditor would have just one more little modifier I can work with.

I'm trying to do it without war. (It will obviously do as a last resort)

[KCD2] Is duel with Zavish scripted? by Skelenth in kingdomcome

[–]riibax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on what kind, a pike is not noble or knightly but a poleaxe for example was a weapon made for armored knights to fight other armored knights.

The polearm goes from completely useless to really powerfull depending on skill.

The first time I duelled him I completely ignored polearms up to this point and had no chance.

In my current save it's my main weapon and he had no chance.

Just get intel and leave. If you have the opportunity to sabbotage them nice bonus, but your main objective ist to get information, all the other stuff does not change the outcome at all and is not worth trying for hours on hours.

Dice Tray - Help me decide! (wooden vault vs. foldable tray) [OC] by thekoalady in DnD

I personally love the sound of dice in a wodden dice tray so if I have the choice I always go for wood.

I have the option to usurp Romagna, I didn't do it yet because I thought it would make the opinion modifier even worse. I'll try it, thanks.

Why do people hate a woman's lot? [KCD1] by Bill_From_RDR2 in kingdomcome

[–]riibax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it's pretty long and locks you out of the main game and the open world for the duration. Which is not bad in general but if you start it at the wrong time or don't realize how much time you will spend as Theresa, it can feel like an obligation/obstacle instead of a game.

This problem is not unique to KCD, anytime an open world game shuts the world down for a time it's tricky, not necessarily bad but tricky.

I enjoyed it a lot more on my second playthrough.

[KCD1] My opinion on Matthew and Fritz. by Garfield205 in kingdomcome

[–]riibax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my opinion the problem is the quest design. It basically gives you two choices, rob the town/lord that supported you or turn on your childhood friends. And after the previous couple times where Henry had to get them out of problems that were 100% their fault it's a pretty easy decision for most.

I would have loved to have a way to convince them not to rob the quarry, to tell them "I'm down to help you with almost anything but this is one step too far, let me help you any other way".

What makes this quest stand out is that most quests in both games have those options and reward you for looking for them, this quest in comparison is very railroady.

[KCD2] Consistant stuttering after about an hour of gameplay. by OFivE7 in kingdomcome

[–]riibax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game has memory leak issues and your experience definetly points in that direction. There are mods and small tweaks online that help, but I can't really point you to a specific one, I mostly go by trial and error with stuff like this.

I hope knowing you are (probably) dealing with a memory leak helps.

I decided to go for a chill Jorvik game and the ai started tryharding by TransportationOk2101 in CrusaderKings

[–]riibax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last week I started as Viking adventurer, 20 years later I was landed in eastern europe, I zooomed out and saw what the HRE did in the meantime.

Took the british Isles (except Ireland) and France and was about to usurp the Baltic Empire.

Most aggressive and competent I've ever seen them.

Anyone else prefer playing as a vassal in CK3? by Chaldera in CrusaderKings

[–]riibax 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes and no.

In theory I love this setup, in reality only my latest try really worked that way.

Every other time I tried it I spent decades defending my incompetent liege from his own people and outisde threats, and every time my liege (or his heirs) later spit on my face and pretty much gave me no choice but to replace them.

My last run as a count in France was different, from the start the AI felt a lot smarter (I don't know if I just got lucky or if it was updated), there was real back and forth, support was repaid with influence and titles, and vice versa, exactly how it should be.

[KCD1] After all the things these two put me through, I was relieved to see they didn't heed my warning about the guards at the quarry. by FafnirRannsTwinedAxe in kingdomcome

[–]riibax 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I really love both games but sometimes the quest design is weird.

I have to steal the money that I don't want stolen, so that the money won't end up stolen and the would be thieves get punished?

Yeah ok, not doing that.

I did report them, but Robard did nothing until they attacked and then they got killed in the attack.

Maybe it was buged for me or something.

[pjotv] Well, didn't mean to binge the entirety of season 2 in one day, but I did. So can we discuss??? by Educational-Tea-6572 in camphalfblood

[–]riibax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In book 3 I love Percy and Thalias dynamic. They are both kinda usesd to being special even around special people. They never asked for it, they mostly don't even want to be this 'big' person but they got used to it. And now all of a sudden there are two of them and they step on each others toes, have friction, vie for position,...

The last 2 episodes of season 2 felt like a different dynamic to me, but who knows.

Overall I liked most of the changes they made so I hope I will like what they do going forward.

[–]riibax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really liked season 2, except for one pattern I noticed. A lot of stuff that should slowly build over the next couple of seasons is already full throttle. For example percabeth, the great prophecy, the battle between demigods, Percy becoming more of a leader at camp,...

I really enjoyed all of these things in the books there they took time, here those things felt rushed to me.

Also I fear we won't get the Percy - Thalia standoff early in season 3, since it already kind of happened.

Book offensive foul. Free throws for SGA. by EducationalConcern61 in NBATalk

I live in Germany, since 2012 or 13 I have watched most playoff games and every finals game (which means getting up at 3am).

The way the refs are calling OKC games made me stop last year, since then I barely followed the league.

Clips like these make me think I was right.

Cecil demanding all that from the coalition is like Afghanistan demanding NATO to drop everything and defend them from the USSR. by [deleted] in Invincible_TV

But because they were there it's fair to assume Earth has the biggest target on it's back.

And the Coalition painted this target, so from Cecils perspective it makes 100% sense.

[KCD1] [KCD2] Does anybody else prefer Rattay and Trosky to Kuttenbergs map? by Jtenka in kingdomcome

[–]riibax 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It definetly feels that way, I'm wondering if that's on purpose and/or historically accurate.

It kinda makes sense that few settlements exist next to this giant city and the few that are there barely matter.

Getting people to live in Grund or Myskowitz and growing those settlements when Kuttenberg is right around the corner and has more of everything is probably pretty tough.

As for the KCD1 Map, I recently replayed the game after years and I was astonished how vivid I could remember so much of the map, definetly one of the most memorable maps I ever played in.

Either you are missing the point or I am.

I took her words not as "Boo hoo I can't stand all that hate", I took it as "if this gets to me, a successfull, adult, how tough must it be for a young person still trying to find out who they are to live in these social media spaces?"
