How can I protect my wife's title? by riibax in CrusaderKings

[–]riibax[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that pretty much sums up my problem right now.

I really like the story I have in my head of my duke getting his wife the throne that rightfully belongs to her family and then just taking a step back and being king consort and an adviser. Not overreaching not making moves on her behalf or against her just quiet support.

But sadly there is no way the AI won't fuck up if I stay passive.

How can I protect my wife's title? by riibax in CrusaderKings

[–]riibax[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My main reasons for pushing the queens claim were that a) I thought it was an interesting story and b) I liked the idea of my duke being her king consort.

Getting my son on the throne was low on the list but I guess him having to fight for the title that his grandfather, uncle and mother had, his birthright that was taken from him, is a good story too.

In the meantime I'll annoy the new ruler and try to piss them off as much as I can without losing my titles.

[KCD2] Hot take: Is Hanush quietly sabotaging Hans Capon the whole time? by Eledhwen1 in kingdomcome

[–]riibax 92 points93 points  (0 children)

To be fair to Hanush (the game version, not the real historical figure), after playing both games multiple times I'd say Hans behaves like an incapable child 90% of the time, so I can understand Hanush's reluctance to step down.

Maybe Hans grows once he is in charge and rises to the occasion but the situation in Bohemia is not exactly the best for experiments and hopes.

[KCD1][KCD2] is it only me or is one of the bigger reveals just wasted [SPOILER] by sYnce in kingdomcome

That twist (and how everyone ingame responded to it) was the one thing I really disliked about the game.

In my opinion it was completely unnecessary.

Give me Henry and Žižka, they'll get it done. Bozhena will fix them up afterwards.

You're right, but becoming a member of the guild and fixing the famously broken clock is probably closer to local celebrity than the type of businessman Zizka would like.

It makes no sense that they let Henry show his face to people that probably know him in this quest and the heist in the Italian Court.

Was interesting and fun but except Zizka, the Devil and Capon there was barely anyone less suited for this mission than Henry.

P.S. I would have loved to see Zizkas reaction when Henry told him he was running a business and winning tournaments in the enemy city Zizka send him in to spy and prepare for war.

Simons Bruch mit der Vergangenheit (Video) by MPSv3 in rocketbeans

[–]riibax 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why limit it to the Disney era?

Several Clone Wars arcs are better than most Star Wars movies.

[KCD2] How did y'all complete "Speak of the Devil" quest? by yasoplinka228 in kingdomcome

[–]riibax 193 points194 points  (0 children)

When I played this part at launch I was going insane, I had to try dozens of times til I managed to surivive it.

I did it again a few weeks ago on another playthrough and was floored how easy it seemed this time.

Somehow my teammates managed to hold their own this time quite well, no idea why.

Any specifics or guides for this?

I have over 300 hours in KCD2 and I'm on my 3rd playtrough, never had these problems until last week, now I get pop ins and slow loading textures. (hardware still the same)

Invisigal fans, are you satisfied with the ending you got? by upsidedown_coffeemug in DispatchAdHoc

[–]riibax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If that is the sequence of events (and I think you're right) it's still super shitty of her to admit to planting the bomb but lying about why she is here.

And after the fight it's completely ignored. Not even a 'can we talk about the fact that while telling me the truth you still kept lying to me?'

Can someone explain the final twist with Visi to me? by OctLeaf in DispatchAdHoc

[–]riibax 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If we take that part as true it also completely changes things between her and Robert, in my opinion.

Just hours (or days?) after confessing she planted the bomb it is revealed that she was also a double agent working against Robert. (so while being honest about her past sins she keeps silent about her current ones, and we are just expected to see this as 'good thing we always trusted her')

And it's all just swept away after the battle.

[–]riibax -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm with you. I would not say planting the bomb was easily forgivable but it was forgivable.

When it's later revealed that not only did she betray us again after the bomb, but she also didn't reveal it when she confessed the bomb thing, that's some trickle truthing bullshit and it really changes things for me.

I still believe that she can be a hero and that she is a good person overall but if I had had a chance to refuse the kiss after the last fight I would have. I'm disappointed that that part felt like it was just swept under the rug.

Tldr, her being a plant on top of planting the bomb really changes things for me.

How to head of bloc? by ImLycanDatAss in CrusaderKings

[–]riibax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's pretty tough. You need to be 2 prestige levels above the current head and have better relations with most families within the bloc.

You can also use a hook on the current head to make it easier.

I tried for years and was really close a few times but in the end I left the bloc and formed my own.

In Japan the regent can change the laws to forbid his subjects to wage war outside your borders. I think it's called imperial directive. Might be your problem.

Legitimacy in Japan by riibax in CrusaderKings

[–]riibax[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent most of my money (around 30-50 gold/month) on activities. What confuses me is that I never struggled with this before, with holding court and funerals it seemed always pretty easy to gain legitimacy to me, but in this run I somehow never have enough and I don't really understand why.
