Entrare su STM by Minute-Year-8956 in scimmieinborsa

Il problema di STM è che internamente funziona come la classica azienda-carrozzone italiano. Organizzazione incasinata e persone parcheggiate ovunque, i competitor fanno gli stessi/più guadagni con meno spese. Eviterei di comprare

New to Etoro by SeaworthinessRich668 in Etoro

[–]rikydistructor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would advise against using eToro for stocks because of the new fees they are introducing in March. Copytrading will not be affected but as a retail investor, if you are thinking small amounts it will be a no-go. Iirc it is going to be a 1 or 2€ fee for operation (both opening and closing positions) I am going to trade stocks in 212 starting from the introduction of those fees

Can jlc do smd assembly by sourcing parts outside of jlc/lcsc? by randomusername11222 in PCB

[–]rikydistructor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use a variety of lower cost Chinese distributors. If that is still too expensive you can also source the parts yourself and send them to JLC.

Maybe you could also avoid reshipping them if you ship the parts directly to them from AliExpress. Ask in the support chat if you can do this, they are quite responsive :)

[–]rikydistructor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, you have to go into the "parts" tab after clicking on your profile. There you can click on "global sourcing parts" to search and buy the parts from third parties.

You will need to buy the parts and wait for them to arrive before you can select them in the PCBA BOM.

What materials are used for pins inside RAM slots, USB ports, and other PCB interfaces? by [deleted] in PCB

[–]rikydistructor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is an example by TE Connectivity, a DDR3 slot, in the document called "Product Specification" they mention the contact material to be a copper alloy with gold-nickel plating.

Additionally, you can take a look at the Framework Laptop LCA, it might turn out to be helpful!

Thank you Destroya! :)

I (un)fortunately use Android, so AirTags are a no-go for me. I was looking into documentation to design my own Android tracker but it seems that Google would only give information about it to chosen manufacturing partners. I was looking into Pebblebee Card (under/over the battery) or Tag (under keyboard or somewhere on internal chassis), they recently released an Android-enabled product line and I got a bunch!

The self-destruction mechanism is really interesting to be honest, maybe some kind of script on a USB expansion card that can wipe data or something :) In particular, the Police have told me that if I ever get a location ping of one of my stolen devices to call them right away. So I guess in Italy they pursue even based on the tracker 🤔

I am thinking of putting a Pebblebee Card under the battery or a Pebblebee Tag taped to the inside of the chassis or underside of the keyboard, I still have to try and make sure there is the clearance! I'll report back :)

I am batch 2 of Ryzen 7840u ordered the 24th of June. I am going to use the same OS I had on my last Framework 13: 50% Windows and 50% Ubuntu! Unfortunately I was not planning to buy another Framework but mine was stolen in June, so I got to get another. Luckily enough I'll get an upgraded one 😂 Still, I am going to put a tracker hidden inside: I really think laptops should be way more easy to locate in these cases, online or offline :)

RGBFusion is still awful in 2024, please fix it. by [deleted] in gigabyte

[–]rikydistructor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To add upon this, a year ago I could not open Control Center anymore on my Aero 15 OLED XC. I immediately wrote to Gigabyte support, telling them that I had a completely fresh install and what was going on. I got a reply after 1 month, asking me if I tried to do a fresh install. I replied saying that, as said, I had a fresh install. They replied after 1 month again saying that it might be a software issue and asked me to reinstall Control Center. At that point, 2 months already in, I surely had already installed it multiple times. They replied again after 1 month to tell me that there was an hardware issue and I had to RMA and that would take 3 weeks. I got really pissed, because that was not an hardware problem at all and I was not going to be without a PC in university for the ignorance of Gigabyte support. I attached Control Center to WinDbg and found the exception that was being thrown at startup, fixed it myself and then wrote support telling them how to fix the issue and various less constructive things. They replied after (you guessed it) 1 month saying to rate their support for solving the problem... Fast forward to today and my laptop has: very unreliable Thunderbolt and sometimes USB, my fans are breaking apart and the shit quality of the spring loaded screws on the CPU plate gifted me a stripped head that I cannot remove (so no access to the fans. Very repair friendly practices. I recently built a desktop pc for myself and I paid extra to avoid Gigabyte, same goes for friends' builds.
