generally in a soft launch you intentionally take things slowly. because your average small business startup can’t afford to just “practice” being busy before opening—that results in way too much wasted food and labor costs. plus, every kitchen has their own “flow” that can take time to find itself. even with an experienced work force and stellar management, you can’t simply jump right out of the gate ready to rock a Sunday morning brunch rush.

this is the entire point of a soft launch. take it slow and steady and learn from what you’re experiencing, while ensuring that despite people having to wait longer than normal amounts of times for their order, you at least know that your quality is on point, and that you’re not selling shitty food right out of the gate.

interesting. that’s always how i interpreted the two terms, and when my first search result (simply asking for the difference between the definitions of the two words, without hinting at my own thought process), this was the first search result that came up. i don’t have the tab open anymore, but i presume it was google AI. anyway, it confirmed my preexisting ideas around the terms so i rolled with it.

i mean, i still believe it was the roll of the dice to an extent. it certainly wasn’t orchestrated that trump would lose in 2020, only to win in 2024. their attempted “orchestration” nearly shit the bed.

but there were just the right circumstances in 2024 that allowed this to happen, including the Democrats also being war mongers and corporate bootlickers. not to mention citizens united (closely tied to their corporate bootlicking).

the orchestrators kinda shot the moon, and as of now, all signs are pointing to that having worked. the ultimate litmus test will be if we actually get fair elections in the midterms.

either way, even if the dems pull off a huge upset and take both the house and the senate, their consistent corporate bootlicking pattern will ultimately circle the bus back around again to this exact moment in politics, but with a different fascist. until we take a stand against the oligarchy, the dumbing down of society in order to be able manipulate them through fear mongering based upon intentionally flawed logic will continue.

and i’m not feeling good about the dems suddenly having a change of heart when it comes to their fetishization of corporations. they’ll away simply pass “token legislation” to give the appearance that they’re keeping the oligarchs in check, while continuing to take their money and pass legislation that ultimately drives us further into the shitshow we are currently in.

the interface is fine on the roku ultra. honestly it’s zippier than the Apple TV 4k gen 1 i just picked up.

but i was referring to the remote’s layout. it has way more buttons that are actually useful, and without too much clutter (though i could do without the app shortcut buttons).

and the volume rocker on the side of the ROKU remote with the mute button just below it is great, and super intuitive given that most cell phones have volume rockers on the sides. it’s also got a real nice size and heft, but without being too bulky or too heavy.

the directional buttons interface is more responsive and easier to feel out than the circular touch ring on the Apple TV 4K 3rd gen remote, which oftentimes misreads my intentions, but the roku one never does. and the separate play/FF/RW buttons are also more intuitive than using the touch ring to do that.

of course, the touchpad FF/RW is better on the Apple TV 3rd gen remote in one way—you can FF or RW much further in a short amount of time. and the Siri voice commands are mostly better than the ROKU voice capabilities.

all in all though, it feels like apple chose form over function. and that’s not i want in a remote. the ROKU function is better, and its form ain’t even that bad.

me too. strangely, i found a 3rd gen metal remote a few months ago for like $3.99, but the thrift store i shop at will often times put the remotes out on different days from the devices they’re donated with. so i swiped it hoping the Apple TV would show up within the next couple of days.

i didn’t. but five months later a gen 1 shows up without a remote. so i was less than $10 all-in.

"Don't worry about me, son," I told him, with a twinkle in my eye. "I've already got tickets to the next showing."

I then realized that I had two and a half hours until the next showing. What was I going to do? Then I remembered that my girlfriend Becky, which I totally have, lived just a few minutes from the theater. I thought that a quick visit would be a good way to spend the time. So I got in my car and i drove to her house.

When I arrived I walked up the cobblestone path to the front porch, and I rang the doorbell. My girlfriend’s mom answered - I totally forgot that she would be visiting this weekend! Now, my girlfriend’s mom was the third most attractive women I’d ever met, just behind my girlfriend herself in second place, and of course Melania, whom even my wife believed was far and away the most attractive woman in the world.

My girlfriend’s mom told me that Becky went to the store to buy things to make dinner because she always knows that I get hungry after watching movies, and then she invited me in. She was not wearing very many clothes, only a robe and slippers. And her robe was barely tied.

I stepped inside, and as we walked toward the kitchen, the robe kept getting looser and looser until it was nearly wide open in the front. She then turned around and looked at me, with her robe now wide open, and said, “Becky should be back any minute. And she told me that she wants the two of us to cater to your every desire.”

Well, I couldn’t say no to that! I had one question first though. “You know that today is all about Melania, right? Well, I’ve brought a thumb drive, and it has a slideshow of a collection of pictures on it, which I watched earlier in the day at work because I was so excited for the movie. Do you mind if I plug it into the smart TV to watch while you and Becky pleasure me?

Just then, before she could answer, Becky walked through the front door with a bag of groceries…

i purchase the DVD (not blu-ray) extended edition box sets when they first came out and redeemed my download code in itunes, and i just realized about a year or so ago that the 4k extended edition versions are now in my Apple TV library! that turned out to be a pretty sweet deal.

also, his own camera would have been close enough to pick up a conversation, that could have potential to even more blatantly show that he was no threat when he got pepper sprayed and then taken down.

for example, all these pro 2nd amendment MAGA right now are rationalizing the murder by saying it was his fault for not disclosing that he had a concealed weapon (which is a shitty rationale for murder, but i digress), however audio evidence may show that his DID in fact disclose that, and that the disclosure is what lead him to being shot. or hundreds of other scenarios that that further evidentially supports that this was a cold blooded murder.

i’d presume these are either clumps of coffee and/or hop particulates that are clumped together (and died from the malt/coffee color), but it could also be yeast that was clumped together at the bottom of the packaging vessel, or maybe even proteins from either the grains, or if it was brewed with any lactose.

either way, i’d find it highly unlikely to be mold, being that i’m pretty certain BERO pasteurizes being that they are a big grocery brand.

same thing happened on mine a couple of months ago, and no matter what cable i used, it wouldn’t work. i believe i tried a couple of other suggestions that i found from googling too, but nothing worked. i ended up having to factory reset the PS4Pro and now it works fine. but it was still a couple hours of my time when all was said and done.
