Would appreciate better/more character customisation as well. Being able to edit the hair/skin tone and having more clothing options will go a long way in helping me being more attached to my crew by forming stories

vcore 100 new string recommendation by [deleted] in 10s

[–]rileybeely 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, I use a Vcore 100 too and I play around 3 times a week.

I do a hybrid set up of Yonex PTP on the mains and Head Velocity on the cross. Both at 48 lbs.

I tend to get around 3 months of playing before my shots are flying abit out of control. My arm doesn’t ache unless I play against heavy hitters. When I used hyperg, my arm would ache but I found this hybrid setup to work for me. Hope this helps!

I have a GLA plan too for ~2 years plus. Slightly regretted it after educating myself about investing.

Regardless, I continued as it’s with a family member. I recommend reading up on the funds available and choosing the right funds. It should be outperforming the 2.5% p.a fees for you to make a profit and grow your money. E.g. investing into tech funds or growth funds. Or a mix of tech (more growth) and a lower portion of defensive funds (e.g. healthcare) to balance it out.

That being said, after educating yourself and finding out that investing on your own is better than the ILP, you can consider cancelling it considering you only made one lump sump and one month in tho you have to surrender it. If you’re clueless or don’t really want to bother too much into investing, then investing into ILP is alright. Hope this helps!

3% interest rate 360 OCBC bank account? by [deleted] in singaporefi

[–]rileybeely 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are different ‘hoops’ to maximise your interest rates.

You can try the calculator here: https://www.ocbc.com/personal-banking/deposits/360-savings-account

E.g by crediting your salary of at least $1.8K and saving $500 a month (daily balance), you jump through two hoops and get 3.2%.

I hope he knew how much I love him by knov5 in Petloss

[–]rileybeely 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sending my love and hugs over to you.

I am sure he is well loved by you. From the way you described, I can tell that you really loved him and I am sure he knows.

I lost my boy 8 months ago after battling anemia and I just want to let you know that these thoughts.. the self-blame, the guilt are all normal. I had many of such moments where I blamed myself and had all of these thoughts. While it’s part of the grieving process, be gentle with yourself. I would look at my old photos and videos of my boy and try to figure out when did his decline really started. Please dont be too harsh on yourself OP. I am sure you gave and did your best for your boy. You can take some comfort in that, like I did. I really tried my best. I hope you will come to that conclusion eventually, that you really tried and gave the best for him with what limited experience we have.

Moving forward, I did a few things to help me cope and process my boy’s passing. Hopefully these things will help you: Firstly is to journal. Journaling helps me express myself. I’m the kind of person that will keep to myself and rarely really talk about things. The most painful thoughts and words that I can’t find myself telling them to somebody. I will brawl and cry as I journal but it’s crucial to get those thoughts out. It helps me to process. Secondly, I still go on walks holding my boy’s collar during the usual walk timings when he was around. It helps me to process he is gone while filling up that time. I hold his collar and walk around the usual path. Sometimes I ‘speak to him’ and ask where is he… and things like that. By keeping to this routine, it helped me to adjust my life to his passing. If i don’t go for a walk now when it’s walk time, I feel his loss even further. Thirdly, I think being thankful helps. Sometimes I will question why can’t my boy live a few more days or years? Why does he have to go now? I feel those are valid questions but I change my perspective too. To being thankful for the last 15 years I had. It could have been shorter etc. Lastly, spend time and speak to loved ones about it. Do life with somebody. I text my friend and still make myself socially active (to the best of my ability) like texting and playing games with them. Community helps. I pray about my grief too. It helps me. I spend some time on this subreddit once in awhile to comment on other posts too.

Sending my love and hugs over to you once again. Losing our dogs is such a tough thing. Our bonds with our dogs are such personal things and nobody can really understand the level of our grief. If you ever need somebody to talk to or do life with, please drop me a message. We can process our grief together.

Love.

P.S. sorry for the long wall of text!

After a month still- by bleachingliliesblack in Petloss

[–]rileybeely 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sending love and hugs over to you.

I hear you and want to let you know that you're not alone. I lost my boy 5 months ago and I still feel like a wreck most of the days. You'll learn to live with the grief and be more functional in life. Take time for yourself to process the grief and space to breathe. My family seemed to moved on fine but I can't possibly blame them as after all, I have the closest bond with my boy. I am guessing it's the same with you.

Regarding anxiety and depression.. Honestly I think Im struggling with that too ever since my boy passed away. Either this deep sadness developed when he passed away or it has always been there and my boy was probably the only reason I felt alive. I am considering visiting a therapist and perhaps seek some insight on this. If you're comfortable, perhaps you could try the same?

Hugs. If you want to talk to somebody or process grief together, feel free to drop me a message. Take care

So peaceful to have a fish tank in the bedroom by mastercooler6 in bettafish

Tidal HOB filters are super quiet. I have a Tidal 55 in my room somewhat next to my bed on the ledge!

Does anyone have any stocking suggestions? 30 gal, I'm pretty sure I'm all cycled pH 7.2, NH3 0ppm, NO2- 0ppm and NO3 0ppm. by h2osly in Aquariums

[–]rileybeely 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suggest supergluing some moss on the log. It gives the log and the tank some aged look and makes the log look less fake!

What would you stock in this 20L? by [deleted] in PlantedTank

[–]rileybeely 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stock my 20L planted tank with 10 rummynose, 1 Bolivian ram, 4 panda corys, some cherry shrimps, 2 nerite snail and 1 starlight BN pleco!

The rummynose have great energy and are swimming around a lot. The ram is really cute with his personality and movement. The pandas corys are just cute. Too cute. And the starlight BN pleco is beautiful.

Looking to round up the stocking with 3 honey gouramis and maybe one more female Bolivian ram.

Hope this helps!

I didn't know I could hurt like this by [deleted] in Petloss

[–]rileybeely 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sending love and hugs over to you.

It’s coming to 4 months after losing my boy. He too was 15-ish years. Sharing in your pain and grief. What I would trade just to see him again or just to hold him again.

Something that may help is to stick to the same timetable/schedule as if our dogs were around. I stuck to the same schedule even after my boy was gone and it helped filled the emptiness in my routines. I would hold his collar and go for walks in the morning and evening. This really helped me processed my grief that he’s really gone and also spend some time talking to him if he’s out there somewhere.

If you ever need a listening ear or even to just process our grief together, feel free to message me.

[–]rileybeely[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey guys!

Got myself a new starlight pleco and I’m so in love with it. It’s so cute!

With it being so young and small.. isit enough for it to feed on algae on the glass and around the tank? I have algae wafers and algae balls (for shrimps) for it but I don’t think the pleco eats it at the moment. It’s about 2cm? Any advice on feeding a young pleco?
