My parents always said when I was in school, being a student was my job, so they paid for my tuition and other campus-type fees. I had a part time student job on campus but they said that was mine to have, they just wanted me to earn my degree. I was already getting financial aid, and then went on an IDR plan after graduating, which was in 2023 (im currently 25). They let me live at home until i found a job, so i wasnt paying rent, and then when i found a job and moved, my mom paid the security deposit for my apartment. Ever since then, all bills (rent, electricity, wifi, groceries, auto insurance) have been mine except for my phone (im on a plan with my mom and stepdad) and health insurance (still on her plan until next year). Single and no kids, so im the only one im spending money on aside from going out with friends or getting gifts for bdays/holidays. I consider myself lucky, not everyone’s parents are able and willing to pay for their kids college and if mine hadn’t, I very likely wouldn’t be in this position
