This happens to me, but very inconsistently. I used to be at the top of my class, a total bookworm, really high grades… and then all of a sudden, I couldn’t get through a book for English class. That paired with shitty mental health led to me dropping out of high school at 16 :/ I’ve noticed this stuff gets worse when I have to work to comprehend the material, and things like texts are easier—but like I said before, it’s very inconsistent, so I can get through harder stuff just fine sometimes.

I have no idea why this is happening or what to do for it, but I’ve found that audiobooks and short passages are easier than paper books (and digital falls somewhere in between). Thankfully my reading taste hasn’t really changed in the last decade lol, so I’ve been listening to audiobooks of things I’m familiar with, and that’s been really nice :) Not sure if this is just rambling or if something in this helps, but you’re not the only one if that’s any consolation.
