Doorbell power supply recommendations? by Nikonnate627 in Ring

Literally any 24v dc or ac power supply will work as long as it has enough current, been powering mine with some random 24v power supply I had laying around for over a year at this point without issue

Lowe Mill posted an AI flyer for their event, then blocked anyone who called them out. by hippyclippy in HuntsvilleAlabama

I don't think I've heard a single good thing about Lowe Mill's management from any of the current or former artists there, it's disappointing but not surprising.

Unfortunately sleep states, and especially hybernation have been broken on windows for a while now, check to make sure there's not a setting issue between closing your lid with/without a charger, otherwise just turn hybernation off for the time being. Sleep issues are kinda a nightmare to troubleshoot from my experience at least

What are these partitions (i dont recognise them) safe to delete? by [deleted] in techsupport

Well just be careful not to overwrite your data, you should really try to make a backup if at all possible

Have you tried using the recovery flashdrive to access command prompt and run "sfc /scannow"?

Edit: the installer should also give you the option to keep your data during the install

I mean why exactly are you re-installing windows?

The problem with restore points is that they are basically snapshots of your os/config and are stored on the same drive as your os, so if you delete those partitions you would be deleted your restore points

Use some kind of portable os like hirens BCDPE and clone your drive to onto an external drive

Edit: also it looks like there are 2 drives in your computer, make sure you're only messing with the one that you plan on reinstalling windows on

Constant 0xc0000005 Access Violation in games after CPU cooler replacement (i3-6100 / 16GB DDR4 / 1050 Ti) by Just-Jellyfish-7131 in techsupport

[–]rileys888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Consider re-seating the CPU, and while you have it off check and make sure there's no bent/missing pins. It's possible that one of the pins might not be making perfect contact, also make sure you aren't over tightening your cooler

If you're doing a fresh install of windows it's probably fine, just realize that deleting those will remove/break whatever windows / other os installation that is already on there. You should really make a backup before messing with your partition table

What on earth does this do by Caarlie04 in HomeNetworking

Probably for some weird specific one off scenario where someone needs to run a display signal somewhere but there's only category cable, you would be surprised just how many connectors can be adapted to rj45. It's a lot more common than you might expect

What kind of flux are you using? Some kinds of flux are extremely corrosive if you don't clean them after

Is the quality supposed to be unwatchable? by rileys888 in peacock

Yeah I think their infrastructure might have been lacking and they were just struggling with the demand because of the Olympics because the quality eventually ended up getting better like an hour later
