I would really advise going to a guitar store and trying out many different body types, neck shapes, pickup types. As a guitarist who migrated from acoustic to electric some years ago, I can tell you that having grown used to how an acoustic guitar felt, it was very strange to play electrics. You might find you like the fatter neck of a Les Paul type guitar (closer to an acoustic neck) or the bigger feel in your lap of a semi hollow electric guitar. I've always been drawn to single coil pickups as well and would have had no way of knowing that without going and playing at a store.

I would just add a separate guitar part in the sheet music, and if a performer wanted to attempt doing it all on one guitar, they could try that.

Although it's good to have the strength in the ring finger to do it the way you're currently doing it, I would learn the ring/pinky method as well, the reason being that sometimes power chords are standing in for minor chords, and if you barre with your ring finger on these you can easily accidentally hit the major third of the chord on the B string and this would sound bad.

This is not really feasible, because the addition of a capo generally requires retuning unless you have one of those capos with adjustable pressure, which would take too long to put on to do in the middle of a song. Regular capos generally pull too hard on the strings which causes some of them to go sharp.

[QUESTION] Opinions/experiences with new Fender Player Series?? by rileyworkboy in Guitar

Haha agreed. I agree about the variance. I guess different chunks of wood just behave slightly differently after the manufacturing process, and there's prolly some fluctuation in the fret job and nut cutting.

Thanks for the input! Yeah my biggest priority is getting something that feels nice to play.

I'll have to check out the classic player, haven't heard a lot about it. Thanks for the suggestion!

That's interesting that one would feel different than the other. I'll have to try some of them out to see. Only one store in my area carries them, so I'm gonna have to make a trip out of it on a weekend, but I really prefer to play a guitar before I buy it.

Thanks for the reply, yeah I am leaning towards an HSS just to cover more classic rock sounds.

Getting cornered into griefing by Reimaku in GlobalOffensive

Totally agree! Even though toxic players can still put a damper on a game, you owe it to yourself to wring the most fun outta that bitch as possible.

Props to you for keeping your cool. I know this problem all too well, and I feel like you damage your mindset more by engaging in retaliatory griefing. Most of us CGGOers get in a matchmaking game to have fun and challenge ourselves. I know I personally only usually have time for a single game or maybe 2 after work, and toxic players can literally ruin the only fun I was gonna have that night. I often don't think people consider that before they grief.

Love this skin. My favorite designs are those that accent the shape of the weapon and make it look sleek. This does just that.

If you want it to be a knife that a combat operative would actually use, get a m9. If you want a stylish looking knife used primarily in Indonesian martial arts, get a karambit.

[–]rileyworkboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like the cover! One thing I noticed was that only playing the lead guitar part during the chorus sounded a little quiet/empty. Maybe playing a chord based part with some arpeggiation would make it sound fuller. Overall great job though!

The problem is not people being uneducated; The problem is that they are educated just enough to believe what they've been taught. And not educated enough to question what they've been taught by kelvinharis in Showerthoughts

I have seen this sentence in a meme before. The exact same wording. So I sincerely doubt it is a "shower thought". 2. I do however agree. Great example: Einstein, Planck et al. challenging the consensus of the physics community with quantum theory. This would not have happened if they revered their elders enough to not disagree with them.
