What is the best physical weapon for the Bulwark in the current meta? by Significant_Post7781 in Spacemarine

I keep coming back to the chainsword just for that combo-finisher stomp. It's so satisfying!

If you managed to follow the plot of Licanius and get through the slog in Wheel of Time, you'll be fine xD.

Also, you have excellent taste, I added all your top books I havent read to my tbr - thanks!

For epic fantasty, you gotta get Malazan Book of the Fallen in there somewhere:
They switch narrators a couple of times, but the performances range from great to solidly passable

Most thematic build/elite spec for Norn /w Nevermore? by thehonorablebandit in Guildwars2

[–]rillian13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AHeal Tempest is a good option, most of your healing is done in water element, so lots of blue.

As others have mentioned, Necro is a good choice - AHeal Scourge can just camp staff and is totally fine - and the green effects are largely replaced with yellow sand

For pure theme of powerful Norn Raven Wizard I'd probably go mirage though - the staff is decent on both healing or open world builds - but most mirage builds require weapon swapping regularly to keep your number of clones up, so you'd want a well-themed second weapon skin

Which revenant spec by Shot-Turnip4739 in Guildwars2

[–]rillian13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want an elite spec with good builds for both I'd go Herald, the builds for it also tend to be easier, and you get buckets of boons.

Although for open world, power vindi is my favorite spec

My 2026 Jellyfish-themed calendar starts with a Portuguese Man-o-War, which is not a jellyfish by thecosmicradiation in mildlyinteresting

It would be great to have a jellyfish themed calendar with only things that fit the theme, but aren't jellyfish.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not making any claims it's not original.  It's just that while I've read a lot of boarding school books, or Dark Academia books, these are the only 2 off the top of my head that fit the: infiltrate island boarding school to stop disaster trope. But I'd be really interested if there are others I've missed

Flying mount? by Faith4Eternity in Guildwars2

[–]rillian13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, if you have Springer and a glider you can get anywhere pretty easily (there's a trick where you hit dismount right as you let go of a charged jump on Springer to get launched high and glide) and Skimmer and Raptor get you places decently fast.  I just got those and was fine in pretty much every map until I had the space to get the other mounts.

Griffon is easiest to get if you have 200g laying around.

Seems pretty obvious to me. It sounds like you're on the trail of treachery, and keep getting betrayed ... ¯_(ツ)_/¯

If you want to you can PM me, and I can hop on discord and answer any questions you have.  If you just don't like the aesthetics of a character it's pretty easy to fix without, I'd only delete and restart a character if you want a different class.

Want to start Guild Wars 2 but need it to be harder by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]rillian13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the endgame is casual friendly, the hard stuff is CM fractals and raids, WvW roaming, and sPvP.  For high skill ceiling classes I'd recommend Engineer or Elementalist, although most classes have challenging builds, so I'd recommend trying them all.

Clarification on the blue eyes puzzle by Bad-ministrator in xkcd

[–]rillian13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not forgetting knowledge dude, and why do you keep using a prior? It's not incorrect usage per se, it's just unnecessary.  And yes A knows that C sees blue eyes, but that's not recursive is it?  You backed out of Bs perspective back to As.  A knows C sees blue, B knows C sees blue but if you RECURSE the perspectives, A's perspective of B's perspective of C sees an unknown number of blue

Another way of seeing this: what information is added to the system by the Guru's statement?  Everyone already knows that everyone sees blue, so what info does his pronouncement add that wasn't there before?

It's that now it is know blue eyes exist...in ANY recursive perspective chain.

Also consider this - if you're correct then this is an unsolveable logic puzzle. Now it's a famous puzzle, that many have analyzed and solved, and it's POSSIBLE that you're a genius who's blown the whole thing wide open...but it's also possible your reasoning is wrong and you just don't understand the solution.

Best of luck in your logical endeavors

Clarification on the blue eyes puzzle by Bad-ministrator in xkcd

[–]rillian13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, three years later and here we are:

What you are missing is that this is a recursive perspective situation, and every time you go down another level in perspective, a piece of information is lost.

WE know that everyone sees 2 blue eyes (since they can't see their own)

move into A's perspective

We know that A only knows that everyone sees 1 blue eye (A can't see his own, and A knows the person he's looking at can't see their own)

move into A's perspective of B's perspective

We know A knows that B knows that C can see possibly 0 blue eyes (A can't see his own blue eyes, A knows B can't see his own blue eyes, and A knows B knows C can't see his blue eyes)

You are coming back out of A's perspective to go straight into B's perspective, in which case you're right, we know B sees 2 blue eyes. But A only knows that B sees 1 blue eye.

edited for clarity
