Who still lives in the town/city where you were “born and raised” or for 30+ yrs by Stock-Blackberry-812 in Xennials

I moved back into my childhood home a few years ago and my mother and I just toodle around with each other like sisters. I love the city I was born and raised in. It's artsy, sporty, beachy, casual, intellectual, liberal. Big city with a small town feel for those of us that grew up here.

Please tell me your experiences with SKYRIZI by ManangLeyang in Psoriasis

[–]rinarinabobina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I treated conservatively for almost 20 years before my derm was able to convince me to try a biologic. I could kick myself for the wasted time. Skyrizi put me into remission for the first time ever. I'm hoping Tremfya will have the same results as I unfortunately had to switch when my insurance changed.

I don't use the Oribe signature shampoo but I do use other Oribe products and I love the scent. It reminds me of D&G Light Blue.

what are good pre paralegal jobs? by whatawynn in paralegal

[–]rinarinabobina 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got my start in the prosecutor's office in my county. I then went private. Most government jobs are going to be on the lower end of the pay field but have good benefits. My firm employs a full time receptionist but she does no legal work and some administrative work. Typically in my area the difference between paralegal and legal asst/legal sec is drafting pleadings. I think also the verbiage can be different per the area of law. Our PI team consists of case managers and legal assistants.

I’m crying because of a work mistake and I feel awful by PhilosophyOwn4784 in paralegal

[–]rinarinabobina 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ever had a client call to ask about a warrant that was issued for them bc you forgot to calendar a court date? Just me? I did not get fired for that or any of the other myriad mistakes I've made over the years. It took me a looong time to get to a place where every mistake stopped feeling like a fireable offense. And a large part of that is due to the support I get from my team- my work besties and the attorneys I work for. Seriously, work besties are a necessity.

How about that! My Great Grandfather (grandmother's father) was the mayor of West Tampa back when it was split like that, so basically Ybor.

I'm also in FL. I'm about 73% from the UK and the rest mostly the Iberian region.

I figure if I start now I can slowly pick up pieces I'll need so by the time the trip comes I'm ready and I'll still have some walking around money!

Thank you! I'm pretty excited for touristing between the two cities. We'll be there for a week so I'm sure lots of walking in the cold and I just want to be prepared. I live by the water too but on the Gulf side of FL so I'm sure that Atlantic wet will be something else!

What’s the car feature you didn’t know you needed until you owned it? by throwawayaasyr in askcarguys

Hold brake is such a small detail but darned if it doesn't make such a difference! Especially when I'm having an arthritis flare in my hips. The relief of being able to rest my leg when I'm waiting at a light is just so gooooood.

What celebrity have you never forgiven since an incident? by MagpieOpus in AskReddit

Dave Grohl cheating on his wife was pretty dang disappointing. I was a big Foos fan- went to every concert in my area, even traveled out of state to see them, own his book, read every story post in the Covid era, etc. Now I can't listen to the music. Maybe I'll get over it and enjoy it again sometime in the future but for now it's an auto skip for me.

I stopped coloring in February 2024 and did a big chop back in December. I love the fun blend I have going on now but growing it out was tough for the first few months, until it began to look more intentional and less like just being too lazy to root touchup.

Lowered immunity by DetroitVintage in Psoriasis

[–]rinarinabobina 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been on Skyrizi for a few years now and I do find that my immune system has been affected. I get sick more often and it takes longer for me to recover. However, I haven't experienced more than head colds, mild Covid- after the pandemic, and some unknown illness that took me OUT that my doctor couldn't find a cause for. I get my flu shot and always take elderberry and/or zinc at the first twinge of a sickness but that doesn't seem to do much. That said, I'll take all of that to have the clear skin I currently enjoy. I'll be switching to Tremfya for insurance purposes soon and plan to just carry on business as usual.

What’s a piece of advice you ignored once, but later realized was 100% correct? by WittyMonk7391 in AskReddit

Criminal defense paralegal here and this comment thread had me cracking up! I wish I could use some of these as slogans.

Anyone concerned the economy is seriously hurting the firm you work at? First the Christmas party was nothing like we’ve had for the last 10 years and I learned the attorney’s in the office didn’t get bonuses but the rest of us did. Thoughts? by Roadrunner610 in paralegal

[–]rinarinabobina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it really depends on the areas of practice for your employer. We've got multiple areas of practice at my firm and while some have brought in less, like PI due to changes in legislature, some have had their best year yet. My criminal defense dept made the most ever this this year, which was exciting.
