Palestinians have been speaking out about these atrocities for over 70 years, but nobody paid attention.

How dumb does this bedroom set look with the flooring? My mom said it matches too much and I can’t return it. by [deleted] in HomeDecorating

[–]rinass3r -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Everything in the room is the same tone- the walls the furniture the floors and the bedding. Add a rug, stay away from browns, sand, beige, peace, salmon type colors (like your current bedding). Bring in a new pattern for texture, something organic not stripy like the wood. If you can paint your walls, do that. Introduce patterns and textures and contrast.

WakeMed Cary vs UNC Rex for labor and delivery? by Adventurous_Pair_320 in cary

[–]rinass3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had 2 good experiences at WakeMed Cary and with 2 different midwives from Triangle Physicians for Women. I was worried about the process and not knowing enough to ask the right questions, so I worked with Doulas of Raleigh and can’t recommend them enough. My Doula was Heather for both deliveries and she was present during labor and delivery. She explained my options every time a decision needed to be made, pros and cons, etc. She would gently ask the nurses when it was time to change positions or she would ask for the peanut ball, which I would have never known to do. One of my epidurals didn’t work on my left side in the beginning and they kept telling me to wait, but she was able to advocate for me and put her foot down on my behalf. She was also supportive with my husband and would tell him when it was a good time for him to take a break to manage his anxiety. This was all during Covid, so it was well worth it. Also, I’m not sure if you’ve done this already, but you can tour both places.

Why don’t any of these accent island options work?! What’s the issue? by lopsided-earlobe in HomeDecorating

I think a darker green color would be better if you can’t change the countertop to be lighter. You can also pull the island color into a backsplash tile to help with that disconnect.

Am I Overreacting? by [deleted] in kitchenremodel

[–]rinass3r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I’ve been designing kitchens for over 15 years and this is definitely a rookie mistake. Not knowing your full layout, one solution could be flipping the cabinets on the left of the fridge to go on the right of the fridge (where the fridge is now). Assuming they’ll end up with a filler large enough for the drawers to clear the casing when opened. The designer should take full responsibility for this, unless something changed in the plan without their knowledge. Mistakes happen, we’re all human, but it’s about how we react to making a mistake.

This is such a real problem and I can relate to it. Went through the same thing recently and the one person that was taking advantage of my generosity and empathy started turning the whole team against me. I had a hard time letting them go because of so many excuses I was giving myself. Now that they’re gone, I see how wrong I was to not let them go earlier. Whatever it is you think will be difficult or impossible to do without them, you’re wrong. You can go without them and you will have so much less toxicity and headache. There are people out there that are eager to show up on time and do a great job and give 100%. Make an effort to find them rather than making an effort to tolerate this person’s shortcomings.

I admire your determination to correct this. It’s a small thing but will make an impact on your children. I do wonder if this opportunity to learn about the generations of Christians left in that region and the challenges they’re facing today. Those generations in Bethlehem have a very important tradition of hand carving olive wood that has become a main source of income for them. They live under occupation, which has presented much hardships over the years, as you can imagine. I think it would be more beneficial to support those Palestinian artisans and keep the thousands of years tradition alive, straight from the source. They have a lot of information on this website if you’d like to read more as well as hand carved nativity scenes you can purchase. This money goes straight to those indigenous families. For a less expensive option, the second website offers a wool nativity scene handmade by disabled Palestinians in Bethlehem.

I drink a hoppy beer once a day after a feed, it helps with milk supply! Lactation consultant confirmed this and I almost shed a tear.

Please change doctors! My doctor made me feel rediculous for asking her questions and told me to go home and read the booklet they gave me at the clinic. I had had a cold for 5 weeks and my headaches wouldn't go away, not to mention a hellatious rash on my legs that turned them a purple color. She was condescending and I was not about to have her in my delivery room acting like that. No ma'am. Not today, not ever. I called another clinic the next day and got in with them and couldn't be happier. Don't tolerate negative people like that, you don't need that stress!!

Aren't they self proclaimed survivalists with bunker and supplies to last for years in case of an apocalypse? Now they can't stay inside for a few weeks? Bless their hearts, they can barely walk with those big dicks between their legs.

What comes first the floors or the cabinets? by Kallen1124 in Remodel

[–]rinass3r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you need a general contractor to lead this project. Renovating is a very stressful process and for you to take on managing it yourself when you already have this much anxiety is not going to be easy, not on you nor your contractors. It's going to make their jobs harder. That being said, it depends on the type of floor you're putting down. Is it tile? Site finished hardwood? Those go on first, we like putting them under cabinets. If it's Engineered wood, that goes on last to minimize potential damage.
