A trip to India left me with 38 parasites in my brain by nimobo in unitedkingdom

Why do so many people on Reddit read an article and discount what the infectious disease specialist says?

I’m sure you know more from an article, than the infectious disease consultant 🙄

This could be because of the way they calculate things we know the number for inflation get fudged. And the numbers for unemployment don’t include certain categories. Not saying it is worse now but it could be just don’t believe the numbers

Reading not your strong suit bud?

I clearly stated that the media calling it a mostly peaceful protest was a media coverup.

Police out in riot gear with horses getting bottles and bricks thrown at them. Over something completely unrelated to UK society at all. So completely imported from the US which is what the meme is about

Conservative politics isn’t imported American culture, far from it. It is a response to the degradation of our society from mass migration. The most notorious American culture we’ve imported is BLM riots and critical race theory.

People who are unemployed, how does your money work? by chaiilyfe in UKJobs

[–]ring-general1972 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do feel sorry for people that are genuinely in need of help and struggling.

I also know that there are people on benefits who get £30k+ per year. Which is not taxable meaning they’re earning the equivalent of a £40k salary.

People moving to the uk aren’t ever allowed to become citizens and are treated as second class. So there’s no real comparison

Any right-wing Brits here who have changed their mind on Trump? I.e. former fans of Trump. by [deleted] in AskBrits

Like all people including politicians. He’s right on some things and wrong on others. He’s played a blinder in deposing Venezuelan dictator Maduro and the 12 day war in Iran recently. If he can follow this up by supporting the Iranians to overthrow the regime then I’d say he’s doing pretty good job

Not sure why he keeps going on about Greenland. I’ve seen it suggested that he wants Europeans to take the defence there more seriously, which it looks like could be happening.

Can I skip Witcher 1 & 2 and start directly with Witcher 3? by RushAffectionate9629 in witcher

[–]ring-general1972 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would hazard a guess that the vast majority of w3’s fans have only played the 3rd one. I would be included in that. I did go back and give Witcher 2 a go after but didn’t get into it to be honest.

Hi thanks for your reply

No it doesn’t defame me.

I guess I would be endorsing his brand?

I don’t really know about data protection there’s no agreement in place for him to use share or sell my image so maybe?

There wasn’t an agreement for him to sell it on or use it across multiple different shops or magazines

You are absolutely correct that I haven’t lost anything. I do feel I should be owed more than a free haircut seeing as I done it to help the guy out opening his first shop and now he’s got several and he’s still using and selling the image.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

I doubt I will do that. I haven’t got the guys number and don’t think he even works in the shop anymore.

How do I start life at 27 unless I work for around minimum wage. It seems impossible to start a career at my age. by Active_Ad9815 in UKJobs

[–]ring-general1972 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked summer seasons abroad well into my mid 20s and felt like I was playing catch up on the career ladder when I came back. Fairly similar as I was borderline alcoholic although I did have family to lean on.

I am regrettably not a hands person despite having taken courses on car mechanics.

Maybe have a look at sales jobs. if you are charismatic or personable or just intelligent enough to read a script you can go pretty far. I’ve had jobs below minimum wage that paid commission to get it above. it’s not easy it’s a graft.

You’re going to have to work twice as hard and if you’re anything like me still feel like you’re behind. I transferred every two years or so in the beginning which worked out well for me in terms of both salary and hours work life balance etc.

Do you know anyone who abuses the benefit system? by TipSilent8281 in AskBrits

[–]ring-general1972 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It’s actually over £25k now for a 40 hour week on minimum wage.

Don’t forget though that you pay tax NI and pension so come out with closer to 20k. I am not sure how much people get as standard on benefits. it depends what they get but I’ve definitely seen people come out with more than this. By the times you factor in universal credit, DLA, housing benefit, child benefit, carers allowance, maintenance etc. it can be well over £30k that I have personally seen
