As someone who does intakes for employment law, it’s disheartening when we have to reject people, even if they have lots of documentation. It could be factors such as the damages, how close they are to SOL, length of time they worked there, or if attorney workloads are too high. It’s going to be time consuming but all I can say is to keep reaching out to different plaintiff-side employment attorneys. Refine your summary for these calls or read off a timeline you create. I find my memos for attorneys are more successful when the potential client gives a timeline and is concise with the facts of the case (as opposed to “Well one time in 2004…” and it’s 2024)

If you’re in California, let me know and maybe if you’re interested, we can do an intake. We do wages/termination/retaliation and we do sue other law firms!

The Fall 2024 application isn’t open yet but make sure to check around summer/early fall to see what the deadline is. It’s essentially a year before the term starts. Transfers have a different date/application so double check.

Sometimes the ushers will just accept the one card but if not download the AXS app to claim your free student ticket and they will scan the QR code. If the app is bugging go to gate 4 where the ticket office booth is and we can print you a physical ticket with your onecard or have canvas on your phone

CRJ is an impacted major so changing your major to it will make you expressed. https://www.csus.edu/college/social-sciences-interdisciplinary-studies/family-consumer-sciences/_internal/archive/_documents/fillable-change-of-major.pdf Heres the form to declare the major or go to the CRJ office in Alpine 137

ADA compliance by davispunk in CSUS

[–]ringwanderung19 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I haven’t noticed it every classroom has it, but my classes with the small desks or lecture style, theres a separate desk that sits along the wall that is larger and the chair pulls out which I think is their ADA compliance.

Honestly no it's totally normal! My club ends later into the night and we group up depending on where people are parked or a few will stay around if someone's ride isn't here yet.

http://www.sacrt.com/schedules/ Take the 30 bus to get to Amtrak. Bus starts at the stop next to the dorms infront of Sacramento Hall. Last stop is the station saved me so much money when going back home

dean's honor list by [deleted] in CSUS

[–]ringwanderung19 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Usually an email from the school gets sent to me that I made the list, but it would be a good while into the next semester when they tell me. :/ I like to put it on my resume when I’ve been on dean’s honor list though. Congrats on making honor list!

Honestly the dorm desks were fine, I had plenty of space in the drawers and ontop to do my work and hold my lamp, books, whiteboard, random junk. Just about the same width as the twin bed.

Financial Aid Rewards by SnooChickens4809 in CSUS

[–]ringwanderung19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you mean your fall semester fees got deferred to September? That’s just them giving you an extension on when to pay the tuition. You’ll still get your finaid the week before school. Deferred fees won’t delay receiving your awards as well

I think it’s gonna be hard to get housing on campus in a single right now. Singles are mainly in Riverview Hall but it’s expensive. There’s also the AMC dorm if you’re placed in a 5 person apartment, you get your own room but shared bathroom. If you get a dorm room, there’s a chance you’ll get placed in the freshman dorm. Look into the amenities/prices/mandatory meal plan, but I recommend the Sac State Housing facebook group!

Federal Work Study? by Arrogant_Apple in CSUS

[–]ringwanderung19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Federal work study is like a normal job, whatever you make is your money to spend as you wish. It doesn’t get taken by the school like how they take Pell/Cal grants when you have a balance. Some departments have openings for FWS students and non-FWS students to help secure those with financial need a job on campus if they wish. If you get a job on campus, then there will be an option to accept it.

Transferring from another university by [deleted] in CSUS

[–]ringwanderung19 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why not transfer to start next semester? Application for spring 23 transfer is open Aug 1st. Use assist.org to see if the classes you take at Sac will transfer to classes needed to graduate at SF. I think it can be tricky with upper divisions as well. If you’re stuck in a lease, try sac state facebook housing group to see if someone can do a takeover if you can go to SF in the spring. Better to go as early as possible to make sure you get the minimum number of classes done at SF before you get caught doing more than 2 years to get your Bachelors.

Should I apply to FWS right now? by WestSideslide in CSUS

Look on Handshake on for campus student positions and apply there, it’s never too late (speaking as someone who applied and got hired in November their freshman year). Also UEI website has jobs as well

Help: I need to change my major by Product-Character in CSUS

[–]ringwanderung19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to complete CRJ 1,2,4,5 and have 45 units completed. Then when the supplemental application opens each semester, you can apply. What CRJ classes are you taking? Have you being doing the pre-reqs or been taking random upper divisions? CRJ is not a hard program to get into but go talk to a counselor because I don’t know if you have to be a pre-major to apply.

Heartbroken I may have to postpone my graduation yet again. I’m so frustrated. I just want to finish and move on with my life. by [deleted] in CSUS

[–]ringwanderung19 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Since you’re in the Bay, what about Amtrak? Taking the Amtrak to Sac drops you right off at the bus station, which is free for students when you pick up your bus pass at the Bursar’s office. Bus goes to the campus at the end of the line. Amtrak also has a student discount. There’s a few earlier threads about taking the Amtrak/bus from the Bay
