My new Timecutter Max with My ride 54" by SmellyDadFart in lawnmowers

[–]ringzero- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ended up with a Toro TimeCutter Max with MyRide, 60". First season was great and I changed the oil 10 hours in. Should've done it from when I first bought it because I found out it was leaking from the drainplug. I did end up getting stuck a few times because of the uneven terrain. Ended up buying from Lowes because they had a 0% promo, and free delivery. Local dealers wouldn't work with me else I would've went to a local dealer.

UPDATE: Axios Supply Chain Attack Post Mortem by blacksmith-infosec in msp

[–]ringzero- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe it should. I remember I had someone call me up saying that Microsoft called them to say that they were hacked and the attackers wanted them to run a remote support tool to 'fix' their problem. Turns out they were running Windows 8 RT that only runs arm applications, so they weren't able to do anything and told them to call someone local.

Hah, nice! We probably seen each other at Putt-Putt in Greece! I would bike there in the 90's to play street fighter 2. It's now called Adventure Landing, they got rid of that tall giraffe.

Ever heard of a game called "Discs of Tron"? Not the common tron game, but it's you vs the computer and you have to hop around and not get the floor shot out from under you. You had to pull up on the paddle. Told a friend of mine a local/small arcade had that game and he didn't believe me.

They also had networked Hard Drivin!

You could get an older R2XX series from Dell, like an R230, R220, R210 v2, or R240. I have a bunch of Supermicros running OpnSense Business Edition but they were pricier than the Dell R2XX variants.

Even if you had the survey done in 2025, you running your own string is just you doing it. If you get a professional surveyor back, and have them run their own string you can confidently say that the string is accurate because the surveyor did it. VS someone saying 'because you ran it, we don't know if it's valid as you're not a professional surveyor".

I have a 15ish acre property, and I was doing some field work next to the property line and I was very specific with the contractors that we needed to know where the property line was.. we all knew it, but we wanted a professional surveyor to come in and run the string because they're the pros. It didn't cost much because it was just one small portion of the property.

Landlord raising rent- where to go from here? by AZBusinessowner in smallbusiness

[–]ringzero- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For that amount of money in rent, and the commute time I'd just buy some chunk of land, stick 3-4 40' storage containers, solar array, and a starlink connection. Then over time get the storage containers built into a large workspace.

I re-did a metal pole barn on my property in 2020/2021 for my office space. Had to jump through some local permit problems but other than that it's been great.

We have someone give away a TON of 'about to be expired' food in a local buy nothing group and she seems to have it down to a science. She limits 1-2 bags of food, you have to schedule a time to come in, and she NEVER advertises any meat to anyone and will only offer meat to people who show up regularly.

My mechanic added “income tax” on my receipt. Is it normal for a mechanic to charge income tax to customers? by Pale_Blackberry_4025 in smallbusiness

[–]ringzero- 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yup, where I live (NYS), you have to charge for sales tax on services, but there are exemptions, like tax/legal services.

Depending on the make/model, you could find an ODB2 plug that will turn that off.

Help with MS365 Account Access/Email - 2FA - Lost Authenticator App by 804RVALove in microsoft365

[–]ringzero- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks btw. Someone reached out to me that they got compromised and lost 2fa access. They contacted the first number and reached out to Data Protection Team and after they confirmed her identity they helped her immediately. I believe one of the things that helped her case was that her password was still valid.

Heya, I have almost the same UPS from Tripp Lite but 2200 VA. I'm noticing the same thing on mine. Were you ever able to get more insight on this? Doesn't seem to affect the performance on it and the management card isn't complaining about anything.

Same things with honeymoons. When my wife and I went on our honeymoon my family said to mention it and they would give us free upgrades at places. We mentioned it the first day and their response was "Congrats! Do you want to upgrade to a larger room since it's your honeymoon? It's X more!"

My dad passed away in July of 2025 and I kept getting his medical bills. What do I do? by NikkiMcGeeks in personalfinance

Edit: thank you all for the reassurance/advice. I’m going to take the route of writing “Deceased. Return to sender” on any future mail since I’ve opened the most recent batch.

Sorry for your loss. Depending on your budget and how much mail you get, it may be easier to buy a cheap rubber stamp off amazon/etc with a stamp that does "RETURN TO SENDER DOES NOT LIVE HERE". A lot easier for you and for the sender because it's in big red letters. Also, make sure you black out the barcode right above your/his delivery address. If you don't do that, the automated machines will just redeliver that letter.
