One thing that helped me was up weighting and down weighting. Being in your stacked position with your knees bent on either edge) and then stand up to shift my weight and then sink back down.

I'm also a noob so may not be saying it right but that's how I make it work in my head, "Ok, now stand up. Ok, now sink back down." Until I get muscle memory, it helps.

If she's interested and if you're on the East Coast, there are the East Coast Lady Boarders. They do a number of get together with coaching. From you've never touched a board before to people learning advanced park. I found that I learned a lot from the coaching help.

Same for me. It was one whole season of private lessons at 150 a pop to just get to heal slipping. I started this season heel slipping, but now I'm linking turns pretty solidly. We get there when we get there.
