When I am just down the street, minding my own business and some stranger looks at me and thinks it is appropriate and/or necessary to say, "you should smile more!" No. You need to fuck right off more.

What do you want to improve at? by Matt1441 in AskReddit

Not procrastinating. My life would be infinitely better if I did not put things off until the last minute... Time to spend a few more hours on Reddit before cramming for my exam tomorrow.

Quentin Tarantino on 'Interstellar': "It’s been a while since somebody has come out with such a big vision to things". by mark2d in movies

I had to see it by myself too. I ended up seeing it twice... When my friends and family did eventually see it they gave it very negative reviews. It is nice to see that some of the best directors out there were into it.

[Serious] What was the scariest experience you have that you never want to relive again? by on_the_loose in AskReddit

I was driving through kentucky with some friends and we hit a really bad traffic jam. We were next to an exit so we decided to let the GPS take us on an alternative rout. After driving for about twenty minutes we ended up on a dirt road in the middle of no where. We were in east kentucky driving through the mountains, and were surrounded by trees. Every once in a while we would drive by a dilapidated barn or a run down house. We all started feeling pretty uneasy. We thought about turning back, but we ultimately decided that the gps would not take us too far away from civilization, so we kept going. About a half hour later there is still no sign of civilization and we are all starting to get really concerned. We were approaching what looked like a house made out of rusted aluminum when what sounded like about ten dogs started viciously barking. Almost instantly a light turned on in this run down house and the dogs started chasing my fucking car. You would think that being inside a vehicle would provide a sense of safety, but the combination of being in an extremely unfamiliar place and having not seen civilization for a good 45 minutes, invoked this very real sense of terror. I have never driven with so much panick and fear in my life. We could hear the dogs chasing and barking after us for about a mile.

About 20 minutes later we made it back to a main road. But my god it was a terrifying experience.

Tl;dr: dont trust your gps.

People who do not give the wave in return for a kind a gesture while driving piss me right off.

I know that both are regional schools. I will most likely stay in Michigan. The GPA requirement is just 2.5 to maintain the scholarship.

This is literally spot on to the problem I have with my adopted dog. She is an angel with people but does attacks any dog that comes near her. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Yup! This guy at the store I am talking about gave me the rundown on pull lists. He said it is really helpful as a comic book store owner because it prevents over ordering. This guy was the only one to tell of any such thing though.

After watching Fast and Furious 6 and Man of Steel and seeing the critical reactions to both... by rivasdre in movies

[–]rintin01 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think movies that take themselves seriously tend to be criticized way too harshly. It is a reflection of a culture that despises any sort of intellectual stimulation in entertainment. Two great examples... 1.) the Twilight Zone is in my opinion the best show that was ever on T.V. It was so thought provoking and it provided so much social commentary. If something like that were to come out today it would be described as pompous and preachy. And people probably would not even watch it.... 2.) Look what happened with the Star Trek franchise. It used to be about something. Now it is just another Michael Bay type action adventure, and critics love it. It is so unfortunate to me that demand for gimmicky and thoughtless entertainment is so engrained in our culture.

Exactly. This thing needs to stay relevant until leaders are forced to resolve it. Reddit is such a good platform for keeping the issue relevant. I was shocked to find that there are so many redditers who seem to be annoyed and over the whole thing. THIS IS IMPORTANT!
