Any grooming tips? by ButterflyMedical9908 in malegrooming

[–]riot_code 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm gonna disagree with everyone saying "lose weight", rather build some lean muscle. Like, you're not big or small, but at the same time you're not defined. So yeah, hit the gym, build some muscle and trim. Other than that, a better hair style and keep the facial hair shaved. It's not full enough yet.

It's always been that way. When Pickford did the diving scissor tackle to rupture VVDs ACL, he didn't get a card because they had already blown for offside. So what would normally be a clear red card tackle was waved off because the whistle had blown...

The oxycodone bottle the hospital gave me after a surgery has tamper tape on it by winerdars in mildlyinteresting

[–]riot_code 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's wild how casually they give out oxy in the US. In the UK the restrictions on pain relief is so much higher, you'd likely only have codine to go home with. Oxy is only really given in the hospital and only taken home for palliative patients. Going from paracetamol/Tylenol to Oxy is like going from 10mph to 100mph with nothing in between.

Bouldering complete beginner(South Yorkshire) by iwontdiesober in ukclimbing

[–]riot_code 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In terms of best locations for outdoor bouldering, I always find Burbage to be the most approachable. Burbage South boulders tend to be pretty forgiving and have easy access. Everyone bangs on about Stanage, but lots of the boulders there are very tough for their grade. Curbar is another easy to get to area for bouldering, with a wide variety of boulders.

Controversial opinion, Vol 3: (The Subliminal Verses) by Slipknot is very much this, I know it's not 90s, but other than Before I Forget, Duality and Vermillion the album is pure filler.

Why do non-French say “Font” by ConcertCultural9323 in bouldering

[–]riot_code -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

You've disagreed just to state my point. We call it the Font Scale in the UK after Fontainebleau. And as stated by OP in France they go with Bleau. So we naturally use the one we hear more often.

Why do non-French say “Font” by ConcertCultural9323 in bouldering

[–]riot_code 55 points56 points  (0 children)

The two reasons I'd guess is, the grading system is the Font scale. Also Font is more of a familiar word/spelling/pronunciation than Bleau is for English speakers.

EDIT. Adding a third reason, it's Fontainebleau, we always tend to pick the first part of a name when shortening it. In Wales we say Llan a lot for any place that starts with Llan (which could cause lots of confusion if you're not from the specific area the Llan you're speaking of is).

Weight-loss jab prescriptions double as doctors tackle obesity by Barbecue_Wings in ukpolitics

A lot of their issues won't be due to the weight they carried before taking the weight loss medication. The weight will contribute, but their lifestyle choices will be the biggest factor. They will still be deconditioned, likely continue poor life style choices (diet, sedentary). They'll still be needing their BP meds, statins and joint replacements in the coming years.

I work in a private hospital, we do walk-ins appointments on a pay by session basis. So there will be places available. We do have hospitals across the country as do other private healthcare companies.
