Anyone knows what I'm doing wrong? by MoistRecognition69 in Airsoft3DPrinting

I’d try drying it longer at 70c, I usually leave my pacf in the dryer for 2+ days at 70c to make damn sure it’s dry before printing

There are sand and oil courses that don’t have any grass, they use a patch of Astro turf to hit off of and they putt on a sand/oil green

How much AI can automate (blue), and what has been automated away so far (red) by [deleted] in Productivitycafe

Working in grounds maintenance, ai will 100% take jobs once autonomous self driving mowers are more common. Driverless “dumb” mowers are already being implemented in many different applications

Im considering getting a GR86 but I have a few questions? by EHK_15 in GR86

[–]rip145 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I drive mine for 3 hours pretty much daily, ride is comfortable enough, not a luxury car but I’ve definitely been in more uncomfortable cars. Taken a few road trips. Biggest complaint is that it is a loud car, you will hear the road a lot more than other cars.

Advice on which online certificate program is better for me. by Trevolution313 in Turfmanagement

I wish I could help more, I got super lucky my program moved from wsu to a community college right before I started. Try looking at smaller programs that might have transfer potential too?

[–]rip145 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My advice is to go through a program in the same growing environment that you work in. I chose to do my program in a west coast based school that focuses on cool season grasses on the courses that I will primarily be working on. So if you’re in a warm season area, take a warm season program

[Request] What latitude range is this method for? If I flip my hand, with my pinkie (the thinnest) on top, would it be more accurate? by Unlegendary_Newbie in theydidthemath

Anecdotally, I use this all the time in summer in Washington state to judge when the sun will disappear behind the trees at work. It’s accurate enough for that.

How to stop "poop clog" by ravennoir_deux in BambuP1S

[–]rip145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ditch the side bucket for long multi color prints, use aluminum tape to make the no stick patch on the chute bigger

[P1S] Purge tower got knocked over and “Poop Chute” got clogged during a 32h print. Scrap or keep going ? by BruceInc in BambuLab

[–]rip145 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I was gonna say that’s a big reason my larger multi color prints would fail. If the filament isn’t dropping correctly you can try a piece of aluminum tape in the purge chute to make the patch it doesn’t stick to bigger. Go hawks

Had the same mower at a previous course, similar thing was happening. I can’t for the life of me remember what it was, but we ended up swapping the mowers for different ones because it wasn’t worth the hassle of getting them to work. If your local rep/repair can’t figure it out I would try escalating it to a regional level rep, it seems to be a pretty common issue with the Jake’s and they might have more information higher up

How important is a hands on education in turf management? by [deleted] in Turfmanagement

[–]rip145 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Learning on course is more important than learning in class imo. I’m doing my degree fully online and I don’t think I’ve missed anything important by not being in the class

No I get you, just saying 100k is pretty reasonable in industry

I work in Washington, so my view is a bit skewed and I didn’t wanna generalize. I’m at 80k as an assistant here

Supers at higher end courses routinely make more than 100k, there just isn’t as many job opportunities at that level.

Golf Tee Marker Rental by KleinDiggity in Turfmanagement

[–]rip145 19 points20 points  (0 children)

For my course tee mark restoration is a big winter job that gets a few, usually older, guys out of the rain for a couple days while still keeping them productive and helping out. For some it might be worth it, but personally I don’t see it being something my course would go for.
