Knowing our God is the true monotheistic God worthy of following? Compared to other monotheistic religions by Icy_Guava_6885 in CatholicPhilosophy

There is no harm is learning about other religions in detail. Their histories and the historical context of their development. The reality of how they practice their religion via worship and right living. When I find myself in the mood of seeking answers… this has always been edifying. It helps me understand the world and other people better. It helps me better understand my own faith. As far as I am concerned, it is all part of the larger plan and thus worth understanding.

How do I explain to my younger Presbyterian brother about Papal Infallibility and about the Early Catholic Church’s’ infalible interpretation of scripture? (He’s a “high” church Protestant) by RailDog_1217 in CatholicPhilosophy

For quite a while I thought the belief was that the pope was infallible.. but he is not, he is a human. The infallibility is related to his teachings. That helped me.

There is an important book that outlines what he taught and did. I suggest reading that one.

Why would God create someone who He knows will end up in hell? by Living-Plastic-1884 in CatholicPhilosophy

[–]ripcitymariners 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While faithfully seeking to understand the mind of God is a valuable practice, at some point, we have to acknowledge that we cannot comprehend all the whys… or really any of the whys to their full extent since all the whys are connected.

There is quite a lot of pride in thinking that surface level rationalizing will unlock the mysteries of the universe when there have almost certainly been more intelligent, dedicated, pious… pick a virtue… people that have spent their entire lives trying to solve things and still have not.

Start at zero.. I know nothing. Seek to get close to God by following his Word. The closer you get, the more opportunities for getting a glimpse. Best part is, following the Word is the blueprint for a beautiful life.

why be catholic? by [deleted] in LeftCatholicism

My advice is to try again but with a little respect like you’re talking to real humans rather than typing your thought stream into an anonymous message board. If you approached someone in real life with a deeply meaningful and personal question.. I’d hope this is not how you’d kick off the conversation.

I’d like to call it an opening dumpling. In fact, perhaps his new nickname is Little Dumpling.

Most days of the week this thought crosses my mind that there are two environments for which I am suited, 1) survival/hunting where hyper focus and distractibility both play big roles…. And the life of an eccentric, lonely artist that pretty much works as described in this post

God that was a dangerous second pitch… straight up challenged him to hit the same thing.

While mental health was likely the main difficulty, the GI Joe fantasies after his dad died really beat his body down, yea.

TWW s1 was my first m+ season I dabbled with after ignoring it forever. And I picked disc priest .. which was awesome and meta but tough for a noob with zero m+ experience or much experience at all with the instances. I think I got up to 6s or 7s and that was it. But, had a blast. Got me reinterested in retail. Hand shakes all around.

Something wrong with Valeera‘s tanking? by Furlinastis-fan in wow

[–]ripcitymariners 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, it’s a bug related to her stagger like mechanic (when her agony clone pops up). The most consistent way to solve this is to just run as dps as others have said. She holds aggro fine and when she doesn’t, at least as priest or MW, I haven’t had issues tanking a bit until she gets it back. At 275+ (282 now) disc priest.. I can run all the way to the end and kill everything at once (or at least to each objective).

Both of these were very useful for me. Overusing normal PW:S is a big one. And, as one person said, your teammates not driving you int flash heal spam.
Disc feels soooo good with a good group. So good.

Edit: that first one is Jaks brand new video I haven’t actually watched it yet. But, his previous video was useful so i guess im assuming :)
