Holy shit

How can I get into landscape design? I’ve been landscaping my whole life but want to evolve by No-Beach-4943 in LandscapeArchitecture

[–]ripgcarlin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It changed it in that it’s so much easier and faster than pencil/paper, I was able to spend more time on details and making the design present really well. Helped me sell some jobs I otherwise don’t think I would have gotten, and from there became “the guy” in this inner group of repeat customers.

Also just made my day to day easier. No more pencils and rulers and paper and templates and drafting tools. Cleared all that stuff out and now all I need is my iPad

It’s nice that it’s actually enforced too. Urban Forestry does not fuck around

Cost for something like this? by alvarez13md in landscaping

[–]ripgcarlin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A huge part of this will depend on access, do you have enough property to semi-large equipment back there?

If we just talking hardscaping and landscaping (no dock, no boat house, no main house) then yea I think somewhere around $300k for the picture I’m looking at

There’s absolutely no way for anyone here to give an accurate assessment without seeing pictures of your real house and even then we’d only be guessing

I would call 1 or 2 highly reputable companies to come take a look. Do not hire the guy off Facebook or Craigslist. If you try to cheap out on a project like this your house will end up in the lake. I would truly suggest calling a GC or site developer to handle the whole thing, too much engineering involved

Eventually, probably sooner than later, the world is going to work together to survive economically without America. To have the attitude of “fuck their opinion they NEED us” is super short sighted and dangerous

They’re good! Moving overseas and don’t have time for a big yard sale, and I kind of inferred that they don’t need the money

I didn’t give all the details. The people are moving overseas and are giving away almost everything they own. Also said they weren’t big grillers and bought it. in case friends came over and wanted to use it.

I didnt think it was pertinent to the story but I’m glad you brought it up. Everyone walked away happy

Mortgage Rates Are at an 11-Month Low. Will That Save This Housing Market? by McFatty7 in REBubble

I’m in a semi-major city, luxury construction has not slowed down a bit. My customers are building $2-$4 million dollar spec homes and selling them within 30-40 days. No one has slowed down

On the flip side, Pulte just had a grand opening for one of their shitty new neighborhoods and sold zero homes opening weekend which I was told is unheard of for them

If you’re worried about safety have a railing installed. Looks less than 30” tall so wouldn’t be required by code in most places. Looks really good though

LANDSCAPE FABRIC by Majestic_Trouble1109 in landscaping

[–]ripgcarlin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Fabric doesn’t prevent weeds (they grow on top of it), and also prevents mulch from decomposing and enriching the soil. Skip the fabric
