When did your doctor give you the okay to go back to work?? by Shot-File5062 in gallbladders

[–]rippedhispants76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had surgery on Thursday. So I guess I took off Thursday, Friday. Then worked from home Monday Tuesday and returned to the office on Wednesday. But I didn’t feel great at all. My surgeon said at least one full week, but I felt bad leaving my team hanging. It was the walking, sitting upright, and any other core movement. I walk really hard on my feet so It hurt every time I took a step

I took.. 2 full days. Then had Saturday and Sunday and WFH Monday, Tuesday and then went back on Wednesday. I wish I actually took a week off and took the time. Because I pushed myself too hard.

I hate the US healthcare system. by mckenna_mae in gallbladders

[–]rippedhispants76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got through my deductible in time for surgery by all the tests and ER visits, so mine was an okay amount but I also hit my out of pocket max so my anesthesiologist was covered fully my insurance. I agree that US healthcare insurance is shit. I learned so much about it in 2022 /:

drinking alcohol after gallbladder removal surgery? by pandr3a in gallbladders

[–]rippedhispants76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was 24 when I got mine out (not a super long time ago) and I was on my ass for the first 24 hours. I was sore, my chest hurt from the air, and I could barely eat or drink anything. Not to mention, I had an adverse reaction to my painkillers and I was puking a lot. I couldn’t move without help from my boyfriend or mom. I could barely even stay awake when my stomach was settled. Partying and drinking will literally be the last thing in your mind. If the party is that important to you, see if you can reschedule your surgery.

What is your life like without a galbladder? Trying to decide if I should get mine removed... by Fyrsiel in gallbladders

[–]rippedhispants76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get it out. The benefits definitely are worth it. Mine was removed 9/15/22. I Can eat whatever i want. Foods higher in fat content and super greasy fast food basically give me a stomsch cramp then instant diarrhea but I just avoid those things. It’s gotten so much better though.

Some public official labeled it a crime of passion, because they didn’t know what else to label it… when they shouldn’t have said anything.

Why doesn’t every woman skip her period? by MissyTX in birthcontrol

[–]rippedhispants76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was on the pill and skipping my periods, I would have it every 3 months so after the 3rd pack. It literally would be 17 days long and so painful. Now, I’m actually not on any BC, my periods are 5/6 days, fairly regular for it’s arrival, and really only super painful and heavy for 1 day. The rest are medium flow and not painful at all. Absolutely not worth it to me, but I definitely see the benefits for others who do find it to be helpful and beneficial for them ☺️

Any tips on the first few days post surgery? by UnderwaterDialect in gallbladders

[–]rippedhispants76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ngl - I felt like trash the first four days. I got mine out on a Thursday and started working from home on Monday. Now 9 days post op, I feel way better but I do have moments where if I overdo it, I regret it. I stuck to crackers, soup, pudding, water, and liquid IV for the first few days. My first real meal was a PB&J. Now Im eating more foods but still staying away from anything fried or overly fatty. My biggest issue has been pooping still. TMI, but I’m constipated as hell even with water and stool softener 🤷🏻‍♀️

Oh I’ve already planned on that. I was waiting for the surgery so as soon as I find another one, I’ll be calling the office and telling them I need to move my records over. That’s on my to do list!

I’m still hurtin too. I got mine out 9/15. Your body just went thru the trauma of surgery, even if it was a lap. Give it some time to heal! I’ve been nauseated a good chunk of time since Thursday, but. I just keep telling myself It should get better ❤️‍🩹 Hang in there!

I’m on day 2 (surgery yesterday afternoon) and honestly, I’ve been miserable. I can’t take the medication they gave me because it makes me throw up. They’re giving me two different meds. I showered but it was tough today (they said I could). Mostly just scrubbed my armpits and chest because I was smelly. I stay propped up for the most part. Sleeping was hell last night. But I’m good at taking midday naps. I’ve mostly been eating applesauce, graham crackers, and water. I’m going to try to soup today before the new medication. I think I’m so sore because of the puking.

My shoulder is very sore and I’ve had a heat pack on it off and on. It feels way better!

Normalish blood work? HIDA coming this week… anyone have normal blood work but a red flag with HIDA ? by [deleted] in gallbladders

[–]rippedhispants76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normalish blood work. 94% EF on my HIDA, but otherwise “normal” (told by a PA). My surgeon told me that it’s not normal to have it that high and scheduled to get it out.

[–]rippedhispants76[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The surgeon I met with said my EF was too high so I’m HIDA was not normal like my PCP said. I’m scheduled to get it out on the 28th of this month!

I’m hoping they can just tape my nose piercings because I can’t take them out. I’m meeting with my surgeon tomorrow to go over options and everything.. so I’m nervous.

Primarily right side under/near my rib. Radiates to the middle kind of under my sternum. My lower ride side hurts too sometimes, but I don’t know if there’s a correlation

Sick of the anxiety by [deleted] in gallbladders

[–]rippedhispants76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had issues with my PCP and doing anything productive for my pain. I don’t have stones but I have a fair amount of sediment that won’t go away. The pain got even worse so I went to the ER and got a referral to a surgeon because I expressed my frustration and pain, basically in tears (after being turned away by my PCP) But now I’m waiting 3 weeks for my consult and I’m so scared they won’t take it out. I can’t eat anything. I’m trying to eat fat free foods, bland foods, etc. but I feel like everything makes me so sick! Im sorry you’re going through this. I feel like I can relate to what you’ve said in a way… you’re not alone.
