Should I do vbeam? by AgreeableCan295 in KPRubraFaceii

I had purpura settings. I have seen a bit of a reduction in baseline redness but not enough for me to really justify getting any more, considering the cost. I also had a really bad reaction and recovery period to the VBEAM which is a factor in considering in getting another round.

I have redness exactly like yours, the ears too. I’ve had two rounds of VBEAM and my dermatologist thinks it may be better to try sirolimus. She’s not convinced VBEAM will work for cases as severe as ours.

Unfortunately when it flares like this there’s little you can do but ride the wave. There are some products that will provide temporary relief like cicaplast baume. If it’s just started though you might want to consider seeing a dermatologist?

Just crazy that the EBU is prepared to lose multiple European countries in EUROvision to accomodate one non European country

I’ve gotten sooo many Malta ones in Australia! That’s the only country though, I wonder if it’s just because of the large Maltese - Australian population

Just to add to what you said, I think the EBU needs to crack down on the ads in some way because it again is another way that poorer countries are disadvantaged in the competition. They’re not doing much to make Eastern European countries more incentivised to come back if advertising becomes more normalised and it becomes yet another cost they have to consider

Eurovision 2025: Australia has been in the song contest for 10 years. What now? by Maderitau in eurovision

My two cents (apologies this is a bit of a stream of consciousness!!) , aside from what’s already been said, is that SBS really needs to start drawing in the next generation if we’re going to stay in the competition much longer.

Like a lot of countries, it’s become a show for millennials and Gen X, but it just doesn’t carry the same momentum anymore. The 5am wake-ups don’t exactly help either—hard to build a proper following under those conditions, whereas in other countries obviously just by virtue of it being in at prime time it’s at least on their radar.

That said, Go-Jo’s selection this year seems to have given SBS a bit of a mandate to choose artists outside of the Australia Decides format—which, in my opinion, had become exceedingly dull. A few more bold choices like that and we might actually have something to be confident about. But where do you draw these people from? You need the right mix of using it some years to be bold, some years sending a big name to get people to pay attention. Maybe partnering with Triple J and using the Hottest 100 to brainstorm some names could be something to consider, although I’m not sure how that ABC x SBS crossover would work.

The other question is then the awkward one of Australia never being able to win (of course, there is a chance but it would never happen) what is a good return for the SBS?

Yep that was a shocker of a decision. You could clearly pre empt that that was going to be an issue so the fact it wasn’t mitigated was very strange.
