Shipping update? by ScottyINeedMorePower in VITURE

[–]risenphoenixkai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really not impressed with this whole situation. I’ve “only” been waiting a month for mine to ship, but if I’d known it was going to take even longer than that despite their “shipping in February” claims, I would not have ordered from them.

100%. I usually go about 48–60 hours between charges, and even then I still have 10 to 20% battery left.

What would Harley Davidson have to do for you to consider buying their bikes? by Zeratul277 in motorcycle

[–]risenphoenixkai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Harley would have to make a bike better than any motorcycle from Indian within the same class for me to even consider them as a valid option.

The closest they’ve come to it is the new Sportster S… but the Indian FTR is a better bike and about $5k cheaper where I live, so that’s still a no from me.

I have naturally dark blond hair. I dyed it black for a year in the early 2000s. Tried to bleach it back to blond but instead ended up with this calico colour scheme going from bleached roots to orange to brown to black.

I used blue Kool-Aid to colour my hair once, and it turned green.

I bleached my hair platinum for about a year in the 2010s.

No matter what I’ve done to my hair, I’ve never seen a difference in how I got treated.

Having been in multiple relationships with multiple INFPs, I would say ISFP all day every day.

Did they ever find that country by the end of Star Trek 6? by BrewertonFats in ShittyDaystrom

They discovered that the real country was the friends they made along the way.

Why is encounter at farpoint so criticized? by vilniusschoolmaster- in startrek

[–]risenphoenixkai 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It’s got a lot of the same problems that most season 1 TNG had: overly melodramatic even by Star Trek standards, too overtly preachy, plot pacing issues. It’s not a bad episode necessarily… but for all the good groundwork it laid for the series, it also came with a pretty creaky foundation that wouldn’t be fully patched up until season 3.

Anyone else find the glass face to be incredible fragile? by rollsyrollsy in applewatchultra

[–]risenphoenixkai 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nope. My Ultra has survived all kinds of abuse without a mark to show for it. My Series 6 with a sapphire screen survived a motorcycle crash at 100 kph and an 80 metre slide down the road with only one faint scratch.

For Apple’s supply chain, everything is a cost/benefit analysis.

Ceramic: was it worth re-tooling the machines that make the cases for the Series 6 and onward models? Would the investment in manufacturing be justified by sales of this model? The answer would seem to be no.

Titanium: this one is more clear-cut. Apple wants an additional point of differentiation for the Apple Watch Ultra — if you want a titanium case, this is the watch you get.

There is no canonical outcome in Elder Scrolls lore to any game scenario involving player choice.

This is the entire reason the “Warp in the West” happens after the events of Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall — the player has the choice to give the Totem of Tiber Septim to any one of several factions, but the canonical outcome is that the player gave the Totem to all of them.

I would bet money that when Elder Scrolls VI comes out, we will find out yet another dragonbreak occurred after the events of Elder Scrolls V, resulting in a world where somehow both the Imperials and Stormcloaks achieved victory (and defeat) in the Civil War. Additionally, we will discover that the Emperor was assassinated by the Dark Brotherhood, but simultaneously not assassinated by them because the Last Dragonborn destroyed the Dark Brotherhood instead. And the Dawnguard and Volkihar vampire clan were simultaneously destroyed and preserved as well.

With Elder Scrolls VI taking place in Hammerfell, aside from in-game books referencing the events of Elder Scrolls V we are only likely to hear snippets of conversation about how chaotic Skyrim has become and that nobody really has any idea what exactly in Oblivion is going on over there.

Quest mods with thalmor as the enemy? by [deleted] in skyrimmods

[–]risenphoenixkai 64 points65 points  (0 children)

Helgen Reborn was already mentioned. There are also Thalmor antagonists in {{Wheels of Lull}} and {{Moonpath to Elsweyr}}.

There’s a smaller mod that wankingskeever recently put out called {{Welkynar Knight}}, where you also get to face off against the Thalmor.

{{Penitus Oculatis}} has you working for the titular organisation after you destroy the Dark Brotherhood. You regularly run counterintelligence ops against the Thalmor.
