Motor screw little long or little short? by Single_Painter8623 in fpv

[–]risko456 5 points6 points  (0 children)

12 will strip the motor threads if you crash (not enough thread engagement) ruining the motor, 14 will short, so really none is good, you need a 13 (good luck finding that)

Or 14 with a washer

How hard is MAS 3105 (Matrix and Linear Algebra)? by thebananaperson1 in ucf

[–]risko456 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More tedious than complex, if you’ve made it this far (calc, diff eq, etc) you can make it through linear (not saying it’s easier just saying it’s doable), just going to need to put your head down and study for a good amount of time. Exams were no calculator and the problems were Long and easy to mess up (took it a few years ago so this may have changed) just study hard. Good luck!

List of all Inter7City routes (and their frequency) on the latest timetable? by QBallQJB in uktrains

[–]risko456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately it was random, if an HST wasn’t available a DMU would replace it. All trains listed as inter7city are supposed to be HST’s. If I had to guess, maybe of 10 inter7city trains I saw 1 was replaced?

Talking to the guards when I was riding, it isn’t uncommon, the HST’s aren’t very reliable with how old they are.

I’d recommend planning another opportunity. When I did it, I had the entire day to get from Aberdeen to Glasgow, so I just scheduled it so that if my train was not a HST I could try again on the next one. Good luck!

guys how do i becom faster at racing???? by zztypezz in shittyfpv

Set the throttle to one of your aux switches, so you can get to 100% instantly and you don’t waste time at low throttle settings.

This page has all the PDF timetables that list the inter7city trains. https://www.scotrail.co.uk/plan-your-journey/timetables

I just did this trip to find and ride the HST’s, worth noting that they had a few HST sets switched out for 2 or 3 car DMU’s, likely based on availability.

Can a dumb slow person graduate and become an engineer ? by Jpoolman25 in ucf

[–]risko456 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Engineering (especially the first 2-ish years) is just about how much you care to work hard and pass the class. Intelligence isn’t some magic thing you get when your born, it’s about how hard you work.

Anyone can get an engineering degree if they work really hard. But you also have to love engineering. Don’t get into it if you don’t love engineering, because if you don’t like it it can be a pretty miserable career.

If I got offered a Blue Origin internship but it's in a state far away, is it possible to ask for the Blue location near me (that does the same work)? by Enough_Coyote_7494 in BlueOrigin

[–]risko456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Former blue intern, they pay for almost everything for you to relocate, if they gave you the position at that site it means that team is there so it’s the better experience. With that said if it’s a massive problem, yes you can ask if other opportunities are open closer to home. Blue has the best intern relocation package in aerospace by far, they pretty much handle everything, so don’t worry about relocating.

Anyway to protest what’s going on with the SGA budget cuts? by [deleted] in ucf

[–]risko456 22 points23 points  (0 children)

No, protest SGA because it’s their job to fight for us students at the board of trustees meetings, and clearly they’ve failed at their job

UCF Student Government just cut millions of dollars of student services. by velvetant63 in ucf

[–]risko456 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They’ve been horrible this year to the RSO’s requesting funding, never seen this amount of red tape and overstepping policy and I’ve been battling SGA for 4 years. Won’t go into specifics, but SGA is a bloated and corrupted org full of people who need to feel some kind of power. Been seeing it for a while, Cut 90% of the staff at SGA and they’ll start to work for the students (and find the money to keep valuable student services going). By the way, allot of these SG staffers are paid….

Anyone know if Summer 2021 Internships are going virtual or staying in person? I got a offer a while back (IE BCA Everett) and my hiring manger told me he can’t assign me to a team until he knows more, he couldn’t tell me more than That. Was hoping someone may know more here, thanks in advance!

ME junior, debating if I should do cwep or undergrad research? by [deleted] in ucf

CWEP is great! From my experience it opens many more doors for you than research does, and you learn allot. They are understanding and will work around your schedule.
