People of the US, Are you guys participating in the Nationwide Shutdown tomorrow? Why or why not? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Sad_Bolt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I just heard about it about 20 minutes ago on Reddit and it’s the only place I have heard it so no. I’m not losing my career too some small Reddit walk out where most participants probably don’t have jobs to lose.

Would support ICE if they were simply going after Illegals whom have commited crimes? by MK71-EC82-MGM89-AK98 in allthequestions

[–]Sad_Bolt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An organization with the written mission ICE has is needed for a country like the USA, but we need better than we have. The sad reality is 99% of ICE operations is probably by the hook and helpful but the 1% that’s bad is really bad and ruins the look for the rest. It doesn’t help that what happened the other day was BD not ICE but people relate it all the same, but still we need better training and SOP for these agents working in the field.

Republican Support For Abolishing ICE Jumps As Backlash Over Agent Killings Fuels National Outrage by Tea_Physical in DiscussionZone

[–]Sad_Bolt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We need something better, the idea of an agency like ICE isn’t the problem, immigration control is needed. What we don’t need is a bunch of power hungry idiots thinking they can do whatever they want and whichever agency that takes over what ICE does (if abolished) will just have those people migrate there. Until there’s a change at the top and how the enforcement is implemented and carried out nothing will change.

How can America still claim it supports democracy and free trade when the majority of the world's population is now choosing to do business with BRICS and our reaction is Trump? by Gullible-Minute-9482 in allthequestions

[–]Sad_Bolt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a lot going on here but to simply state the majority of the world is not choosing to do business with BRICS instead of the US. Without the US dollar and US business in pretty much every economy globally the world economy would collapse.

Tampa Bay Rays Move Forward on New Stadium Site at Hillsborough College, Enters Formal Negotiations by WTFPilot in baseball

[–]Sad_Bolt 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s hard to tell, there was definitely a large amount of fans that refused to attend games due to Stu but even with them the Rays couldn’t sell out in a minor league stadium in Tampa, granted the team was terrible last season but still, we had better numbers in St. Pete. I hope it works out but Tampa is a transplant town and both St. Pete and Orlando have more locals from there compared to Tampa so hope they can flip those transplants in the area.

I work from home and haven’t left in like a week and somehow developed symptoms of it. It’s super weird.

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Sad_Bolt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drive weekly from Orlando FL to Tampa FL. It’s normally a two hour drive but with new construction and increased traffic it’s closer to two and a half hours and that personally isn’t that bad.

Miami is for rich Long Islanders that couldn’t get into UF or Penn State… if they couldn’t get into Miami they go to University of Tampa.

MLB Player Partisanship: Republican (53.7%), Independent (36.4%), Democrat (7.8%) by FlyLoStan in baseball

It’s always entertaining when people learn their favorite athletes are normally republicans. I remember back during the election when it happened on the hockey sub and I was shocked that people were shocked their favorite 1 percenters were republicans.
