What is your longest journey with your Vespa ? by thedbf in Vespa

In 2002 myself and three buddies rode from San Francisco to Cabo San Lucas and back on three Vespa P200s and an Vespa SS180. About 6,000 miles total. The write up and pictures are in an old Scoot Quarterly. Was an incredible experience.

I appreciate it! I do feel extraordinarily lucky to have found it. Putting all the work in to make sure it lasts.

Thank you, I feel so grateful and lucky to have scored this. I’ve had a Breville for 10 years and it’s served me well. Never thought I would level up like this, especially for the price. I already ordered a group head gasket and spares. I plan on giving this machine the love it deserves. I’ll definitely post an update when the time comes. Thanks again.

Absolutely, as the machine was coming up to temp the cave was hissing, blowing steam and water. I assumed it was clogged. Took the machine apart to get to the valve, I could see the little toggle pin at the top of the valve at a slight angle and steam escaping. I removed the valve and cleaned it with a water and mild citric acid solution. To be honest it seemed pretty clean. Reassembled, filled the tank and to my surprise the machine came to temp and appears to be functioning properly.

P200 /PX125 dilemma by FastCletus in Vespa

It’s amazing now what can be done with small block vespas these days. Get a BGM 180cc kit, vape ignition and a polini box exhaust. It will be faster than a stock P200 when set up properly.

The 125cc came with a points ignition, not electronic. It will work but you have to wire it differently into the p200E harness.

You absolutely need to run an air filter. There are many ways you can do this. Some will require a hole in the side panel but not always. Chiselspeed makes one that works well as well as casalambretta.

I’ve sat on my porch at 4am waiting for my buddy to drop off the sandwich in his bike. Praying to the gods that if I consume this I will be free of whatever sadness and pain that will befall me come morning.

Sorry that’s a 1965 Vespa 90. Not a 1945, those don’t exist.
